Inforoo, help. I have confused myself.
I had been thinking that 10x10 was pretty much the standard size for EZ-Ups. I just assumed 10x10 was what I wanted and so I recently bought a Coleman one that size.
And it sort of just occurred to me just how big 10 feet actually is, and it seems too big. Bigger than I was picturing, so I'm wondering if I've gotten something bigger than the normal things you all have. I don't want to go with anything too large in case we have trouble claiming enough space for it.
So, what size is YOUR shade canopy?
Side question: I had been thinking of buying a bed sheet to make a "wall" on one side of it, but now I'm thinking I don't know if even a king sized sheet is big enough. Any suggestions on the best way to make a wall to block some sun and maybe some of the rain?
(aaughh you guys I should not be allowed to be in charge of making a campsite)
As for the bedsheet, we just stretch mine. I think it was a full or queen sized sheet.
Aha, thank you! I was just out on my deck with a measuring tape like WHAT IS GOING ON HERE, IS JULIE SOME SORT OF WIZARD? I couldn't figure out if I was picturing the size of the canopy wrong, or picturing the size of the sheet wrong, or what.
But that's good to know. I should probably just see if I can find a jersey sheet like yours that's not too expensive, I suspect a normal sheet wouldn't stretch nearly as well.
You can see my ezup here, it's 10x10. Tapestries work great, breathe well, and allow you to show some style! I have 2 up in these photos, but am bringing 4 total. You can also move them around with the angle of the sun!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

PP, according to the interwubs, a king size flat sheet is 108" by 102" (so 9 feet by 8.5 feet). I grabbed a cheap cotton one for this year and tie dyed it, but you're probably better off with a jersey sheet if you can find it so you get the stretch.

Thanks everyone, I am now over my brief bout of EZ-UP-induced panic. Also, we set ours up yesterday for a trial run and HOLY WOW THAT THING IS AWESOME. It's got special buttons that make it easier to extend the legs, but even more awesome: it actually FITS in the bag with no difficulty! The bag has an extra zipper that expands it a little, so you unzip that zipper, put the folded canopy back in, zip up the bag, and then zip the extra zipper to tighten everything up. Love it!
I ended up just buying the wall that Coleman makes to go with the canopy. Might regret this - it was pricier than a sheet would have been and it won't let any breeze in, so I'm not too confident in this decision. But we couldn't figure out what else to do at this point - we couldn't find anywhere to buy a single sheet and really didn't want to pay for an entire sheet set just for this. Especially not jersey knit which would just be more expensive.
