Of course, as things happen, as get-away time draws nearer new issues arise. I've never traveled with wine before and until I started packing didn't even think about 1)the rough handling of the bags in relation to the wine bottles and 2)the restrictions regarding packaging and such.
Does anyone have experience with transporting wine via airlines, and did you do it without buying the airline packaging..that is - by wrapping it up yourself...

We flew in last year and were concerned about wine so we bought some boxes of wine and wrapped them like gifts. They went in the checked luggage and were absolutely fine and quite tasty
At Manchester's Beans Creek winery they are selling wine in plastic bottles specifically for Bonnaroo. It is located at exit 111 on the way to one of the entrances. The wine is great too.
many of the bean creek wines are really good. they make one called moutain berry that is FANTASTIC> its not in plastic but its super good if you like a sweetish wine
As for airline restrictions, I fly with wine a lot. I asked the first time, because I wasn't sure what the rules were, and they just said it had to be in a checked back because of the carry-on fluid limits. Since then, I just wrap it up and make sure it's snug in there. I've also flown with liquor and beer - same thing.

I get their newsletter and they are putting most if not all their selection in plastic bottles specifically for Bonnaroo.
