I'm bringing a Camelbak, and I also bought some flavor packets to put in after I fill it up inside Centeroo because I heard about the sulfur taste. Will they completely ruin my Camelbak? This will be my first time using it.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
i certainly hope not, this is my plan aswell. If it does "ruin" it though, you can buy a replacement bladder for about $30 + shipping at amazon, so all is not lost.
Or just mix 25% rubbing alcohol and water, put it in bladder, let it set over night, empty it, let it air out for 2 days (it will evaporate quickly), fill and empty it 2 or 3 times, and it should be good as new.
Personally, I only mix the flavor packets in bottles of water. I've never put one in my camelpak before but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some staining. I always soak my camelpak after Roo in warm water and baking soda for about an hour, and then add lemon juice and let it dry.

Ive used all of kinds of flavor packets/juices/alcohol even in bladders in the past. it will cut into the life of the product but not by that much. FYI, carbonated anything will kill a bladder. i clean mine with bleach water and its fine.
also not sure^^ what kind of bladder your paying $30 for but nalgene makes a great product that ive been using for years at a much more reasonable rate

^It's not good to do it repeatedly. A few times wont kill it overnight though.
As for the OP - the water inside Centeroo has never tasted/smelled of sulfur to me. It is only the water troughs by the campgrounds. So there would be no need if you were filling up in centeroo. Having said that, I have a sneaking suspicion that you would just have berry-sulfur flavor. I think it would mask it but not totally hide the sulfur goodness.
