I didn't get any last year, but in the past it was 1 for $1, 2 for $3, 3 for $4, etc. Basically they would charge $1 per sandwich plus a $1 markup (tariff?) for multiple sandwiches. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.
In real world terms that is. Buying in bulk shouldn't raise prices. Haha.
Haha. I went to them one year. I asked for 1 (which he said would be $1) then changed my mind to 2 (which he said would be $3). I gave him the "Whaaat?" look then he nodded toward the tip jar.
They explained the $3 for 2 to me as their way of keeping the line going along. They don't want people to pass on them b/c someone ordered 5 grilled cheese and is holding up the line. Instead, you can get your grilled cheese and if you want a 2nd, you can get back in line while you eat your first grilled cheese. Hippie logic.
They did, but I think they added bacon for the extra dollar? Sold.
Fuck if they put bacon on that I'd pay a good Abe Lincoln and not be too unhappy 'bout it.
I'm not goin' all John Wilkes Booth for some dinky grilled cheese'n bacon on white bread, but for $2-$3 I'm in for one a night. On second thought, $5 ain't that bad if you don't really have to wait and want something simple. I'm a pesto mozzadilla fanatic though, and I hope the arepas are around this year.
Pod 11 and others of similar distance from Centeroo should get some kinda coupon fer at least two free rides durin' the weekend. Don't have to use 'em if you don't want to. And as it is you'll have to manage to catch a damn taxi to begin with.
