That's where we were! We were against the fence about 6-9 places from the entrance road.

other than vip, that had to be the best and closest camp out of all of them...i could smoke a cigarette in the time it took to walk there, and still be smoking that same cigarette when i got there...i have to camp there next year...i fell asleep to sasha and digweed one night...i left tool and the police early and could hear both from there...i wasn't in the camp that much because there was too much going on...the first year i was at roo, i was in camp rusty griswold and it took like 30 minutes to make that walk...actually, that same year, i got lost in that campsite for 4 hours - 3 to 7 am - after the trey show...completely sober, the only reason i found my campsite was because the sun had come up....i spent all night looking for my camp...i should of just walked back to centeroo to see some more shows, but i was pretty tired...i hope i'm never that far back again...

The worst thing about the griswold camp is that you have to walk past the pooptruck parking lot on the way to centeroo. That's what convinced me to go VIP.
Anybody ever stay in the James Bond themed camps? Those look pretty far out there. I've always got assigned to the Star Wars camps, coming from the south off I-24. I think I have been pretty lucky with my camp sites.

^ Yeah, there are a few of us who stayed out there and enjoyed it heartily (Meg, nate, and others). It's all early arrivals, so it's people who really really want to get to Roo, and the early Thursday vibe is awesome.
It is not, however, anywhere near as far as the Austin Powers-themed camps. Those are ridiculously far out there, and I've heard the ground is hard and rocky. Back in the Bond camps, it's lovely green pasture...you also have the chance to be close to the trees (we were in the next to the last row in Puss* Galore in '06), and the temperature is about 15 degrees cooler in the woods.

We weren't in the Austin Powers camps, but in the Coming To America camps, which were pretty far out! I believe camp Jaffe Joffa to be exact...? The grass was tall, and we were actually under some trees, which gave us much-needed shade from the unforgiving sun in the mornings. Plus we were right off the "real" shakedown st.

Finally figured out exactly were I was last year. Mortimer Duke. Borderline BFE but a great place to be. Man, the memories. or lack of. We had some great neighbors and a decent walk. I think that Mortimer is the about as fr back as I would like to go. It was kinda funny walkin by that church on bushy branch everyday.
P.S . Why does the 07 Roo map show a pond by Pink Floyd but not on the google map. Is there a pond or no?
I was in Austin Powers waaaayyyyy out there. Hoping for better this year.
you're the first person i've ever known to be camped out in Powers. I've always eyeballed that spot on the map and grimaced. Then i usually knock on wood that i never get that spot
Without an RV this year, i can't help but wonder where the Lexington caravan will end up.
Last year i was stationed in Camp Marty McFly, which we quickly deemed Camp Party McFly. A swift glide into Centeroo.

Good times!
Well I was in Austin Powers last year, so that makes me the second person you've met! It was a real bitch, I'm def. planning on hiking my sh1t into tentland if I get stuck back there again. We went through the Bushy Branch gate around 10:00 PM on Thursday and were directly forced back in there.
I've camped in Austin Powers, and Rusty Griswald (or whatever it was called then) Yeah there is a walk, but you get used to and I think you end up spending more time at centeroo cuz you don't want to walk 40 mins back to your tent.
last year was my first year, we camped in the james bond area, "Q" i think. it wasn't that far of a walk once they opened that one side gate to get to the what stage. but even before that it wasn't too bad.
