Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Although there seems to be little rhyme or reason to the campsites people get versus the time they get to the festival, I thought it would be helpful to compile as many anecdotes as possible about when people got there, which route they took, how long they waited in traffic, and which GA campsites they were assigned.
For this to be most helpful, please 1) FOLLOW THE FORMAT BELOW, 2) GIVE CONCISE ANSWERS and 3) KEEP ADDITIONAL COMMENTS TO A MINIMUM.

CITY OF ORIGIN: Tampa, FL ROUTE TAKEN: I75 to Chattanooga, I24 to exit 127, Hillsboro Hwy to Asbury Rd TIME SPENT IN TRAFFIC: 0 minutes. Arrived just as the gate was opened. DISTANCE DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC: 0 miles GATE ARRIVAL TIME/DATE: 5:30 pm Wednesday GATE ENTERED: NE Gate New Bushy Branch ASSIGNED CAMPSITE: Camp Bobby Brown, Pod 2. Was marked RV on map but included some tent areas. WALKING TIME TO CENTEROO ARCH (not including time spent in line): 5 minutes
Camp Bobby Brown in POD 2 was a new area of camping. Last year the area was just woods that lined RV camping. They seemed to have cleared out most of the trees, though a few remained and really helped keep things cool, especially in the morning.
It seemed like they didn't do a very good job clearing the site as we found and or tripped over numerous strips of barbed-wire that were hidden in the grass. Other than that, Camp Bobby Brown ruled!

CITY OF ORIGIN: rochester, ny. ROUTE TAKEN: I-24 to exit 127. TIME SPENT IN TRAFFIC: almost 6 hours. DISTANCE DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC: about 2 miles from exit 127 (that was the detour exit, right?) and then to the grounds. GATE ARRIVAL TIME/DATE: not sure... NE gate i think. we arrived at 2:30am so it was a bit disorientating. ASSIGNED CAMPSITE: oceanic flight 815 / pod 11 (yet nowhere near pod 11). WALKING TIME TO CENTEROO ARCH (not including time spent in line): depending on how tired/curious/anxious we were... 25-30 minutes (we walk quickly).

We seemed to catch the worst end of the "dump all traffic from I-24 onto 55" and sat practically still for most of that wait. It was worth the wait though, as our camp location was the best in my opinion. Off the dusty roads, and really close to the RV bathrooms (ridiculously clean all weekend).

CITY OF ORIGIN: DFW ROUTE TAKEN: I-30 to I-40 to I-24 TIME SPENT IN TRAFFIC: None DISTANCE DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC: None (although I was sent south to Exit 127) GATE ARRIVAL TIME/DATE: 12:30 p.m. Thursday GATE ENTERED: East ASSIGNED CAMPSITE: Cleveland Brown WALKING TIME TO CENTEROO ARCH (not including time spent in line): About 40 minutes
I think the arrival time dictates where they send you to camp. They fill the campgrounds from west to east, so if you're way early or way late, you're SOL. There's a sweet spot somewhere in between.

CITY OF ORIGIN: New York ROUTE TAKEN: New Bushy Branch Rd TIME SPENT IN TRAFFIC: 2 hours DISTANCE DRIVEN IN TRAFFIC: less than a mile GATE ARRIVAL TIME/DATE: 10:30 p.m. Wednesday GATE ENTERED: Not sure they merged the traffic at this time from and I was next to a Manchester welcome sign. The arrival time indicates how long you will wait in line not where they will put you. Once they re-opened the gates we were let in and as we apporached the tollbooths I was in line to probably be camped over by Zoolander or where ever but this lovely lady saw me and told me to follow her. Landed this prime spot behind TO.

I had a disorienting experience getting in...I'm still not sure how I ended up where I did. I got in line right around Exit 117 on 24W. Me and a few hundred other cars were diverted down Exit 117, right at the bottom of the exit, down some back roads and then on to a main highway/business district for about a mile (41 maybe?). Eventually we looped over 24 again and were put on Rte 55. I entered through a gate off of Rte 55. Worked out great as I was REALLY close to Centeroo!
