Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
In the near future I'm doing Michael Franti & Grace Potter in Danbury, Incubus at Mohegan Sun, Life Is Good fest in Canton, MA, possibly Kings of Leon in Hartford... and whatever I end up scoring tickets to haha.
I got a ticket for the KoL show. 20 bucks (+13 in fees) for a reserved seat, granted it's 400 section. Not bad, minus that fee.
For ten more than that, I have seats in the front of the 500s. KOL was only soso in Hartford last year, though I think that was highly affected by the rain and the number of my friends who ditched second. Super excited for Band of Horses too!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
well apparently at some point i entered a facebook contest to win VIP tickets to Matt & Kim tomorrow night in Boston... I won. It's like a whole day event though because we get to go to a pre and post show party and go watch soundcheck... again though... Boston is just far enough where it's annoying
I agree though, Boston and especially NY shows just are not worth the drive most times. Saw last night that Grace Potter is coming to UConn in September, though I am not sure I want to deal with the college crowd, so that might just have to hold off.
Strat! That's awesome about the Matt & Kim show! Have fun! They put on some fun shows!

Damn, I remember those late-nite drives home from Northampton...then dragginass the next morning at work, only to hear a colleague say "hey, didn't I see you last night @ Pearl St?" then suppressing the urge to strangle said colleague for not offering to carpool. Ah yes, the good ol' days!
Actually, the loudest show I ever experienced was Bob Mould at Iron Horse in '98. I couldn't hear clearly for a week after. And I'd seen The Who in Hartford a few years earlier and thought THAT show was loud!
The Iron Horse is a really nice little place. It seems like every time I show up there, I walk downstairs to go to the bathroom and boom... performers within arms length of me.
Luckily I had noticed the Iron Horse schedule the day before the Asylum Street Spankers show there last November. It was their (second to?) last show in New England before breaking up. Then saw Ronnie Earl and his band up there a few weeks later, who is a simply amazing blues guitarist.

Nah. If I fly, it'll probably be Tuesday and spend a day in Nashville. Wednesday morning flight at the latest. i always get in within the first hour of the gate opening on Wed!

As an expatriate of CT I like to keep tabs on the Nutmeggers. Glad to see we will be well represented.
FM and I plan on driving down Monday for a leisurely trip (for a change). Picking up an RV in KY and going VIP this year. Juggs are you doing the brunch this year? Everyone wants to know what you look like.

If I drive down this year instead of fly, I'm looking for someone to split fuel with, or possibly even catch a ride with instead of driving my car. Any possible takers?
hey CT'ers, 1st time Roo'er here...gonna be driving down with 2 friends from New Haven. I'm wondering what the timeline is like? One friend has done Roo before but I've never done a road trip of this magnitude - am planning on driving straight through, switching off drivers, (hotel stop in TN is under consideration).
Google maps says about 15 hours...is that accurate? For now, we're planning on leaving around 2p Wednesday with hopes of being in that huge line sometime around 7-8am Thursday (and avoiding BFE with any luck).
Any advice/tips/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Logically that makes sense but I'd leave early Wednesday morning if I were you. You want to avoid NY rush hour at all costs. I usually leave Tuesday at noon to get to TN for Wednesday early evening. If you have the time to commit, give yourself plenty of time to spare. Worst case scenario you get to hang with everyone at the Walmart parking lot and go into the festival Wednesday night and avoid the 8 mile line of cars on Thursday
Katy- Sorry, my car is full, but perhaps try Jack??
Kev- You leave Tuesday and noon and get there Wednesday evening??? Do you stay overnight somewhere? I leave Tuesday evening when rush hour is ending (6ish) and get to Murfreesboro by 1030-11 AM CST. Give me time to Walmart and such then chill out at the winery for a few hours until we're let in. I drive pretty slow, my friend drives pretty fast and with minimal stopping- only gas and fast food eaten in the car- it takes about 19 hours, I guess? This is not including line time. I (and Kev-Bot) live in West Hartford, so you're obviously a tad closer.

We certainly have some common haunts! I was just at Half Door today! 10 beers left on your passport? You are an accomplished beer drinker!
I've never been to Arugula or that Starbucks, but the rest are awesome (Koi?? Really??). You already know that I frequent King and I and Hot Basil!! McLaddens is actually ok for happy hour, but I stay far away on busy nights.

Juggs, you are going this year? Awesome! I missed that "announcement"!
And Quacker, 1. You are ALWAYS welcome in the CT thread! and 2. I bet he doesn't show up just so he doesn't have to ruin his mystique!
I wonder if I've actually seen him out and about around here..
Nah, if I'm there I'm showing up. I would have come to the brunch in either 2010 or 2011 had I gone. And places I tend to frequent in the area include the Half Door (I only have 10 beers left on my passport!), Max Oyster, Plan B, Starbucks in the center, the center in general (though I hate Grant's and McLadden's for the most part), Damon's, Arugula, Koi, Black Bamboo, King an I, Hot Basil...so if you frequent any of those, you've probably encountered me at some point. It's not a big place.
Damon's, Black Bamboo and Hot Basil are regular stops for me. Hot Basil's Pad Thai is better than sex
