For Chinese, Black Bamboo is awesome, but I've recently decided that I don't really enjoy Chinese. Hot Basil's pad thai is how I got my best friend hooked on Thai! She has moved on to drunken noodles, though.

And places I tend to frequent in the area include the Half Door (I only have 10 beers left on my passport!), Max Oyster, Plan B, Starbucks in the center, the center in general (though I hate Grant's and McLadden's for the most part), Damon's, Arugula, Koi, Black Bamboo, King an I, Hot Basil...
I've heard of a couple of those. Half Door, though I never been there. Been to Plan B, at least the one in Glasto anyway. And does Max have a zillion restaurants in the Hartford area? The rest though... ???

I'll also be at at least the Saturday DMB show... I'm just buying lawn seats though because I figured out how to beat the system. I bought a bulk pack of 100 of every color wristband a few years back and now I just bring some of each and walk right into the pit...

For all your late night alcohol needs: whether it be packies open past 9, beer at gas stations (no to Citgo, yes to the Valero), or some sketchy bars filled with Portuguese speaking immigrants open till 4 am.

Figure 5 hrs from NYC to DC. 1 hr from DC on I-66W to I-81S (Front Royal, VA). 5 hrs from there to Bristol (TN), another 5 hrs south to Manchester. So, prolly 16 hrs driving steady w/ two Taco Bell stops; not speeding crazy.
Never lived in CT, but lived in Port Jefferson Long Island New York during middle/high school, and took the ferry into Bridgeport CT several times. Does that count for anything? If not, I understand.

he said he was on the port jeff ferry. In his defense when you hop on a ferry in port jeff there's no possible way you can think it takes you to a place as shitty as bridgeport. I had a gf who lived in Long Island a few years ago and I used to take the ferry to visit her.
Yeah. We were like 13 or 14 years old, and we'd just ride our ten-speed bikes onto the ferry and go over and get a Slurpee or something, and then immediately come back. It was more a deal of us just being unsupervised seafarers, than a matter of saying "Sweet. We're in scenic, fragrant Bridgeport!"
