Hey, I'm a Bonnaroo nube and I am deeeesperately trying to figure out if tickets for the 2008 show are going to be available before Christmas. It seems like some people think there will be early bird tickets, and some people think there won't be this year, soooo basically, I am a bit confoooosed.
I emailed info@bonnaroo.com, and I got a very general flyer-type email back that basically said stay posted.

Sadly, the answer is no. Bonnaroo has decided not to do early bird tickets this year, which means they'll go on sale after the initial lineup is released, which they said will be late Jan/early Feb (expect the latter).
My advice it to give your friend or whomever a cheap gift relating to Bonnaroo-- like a bottle of Gold Bond. Then leave a note that says, "To Be Used in June". I dunno, just my first thought...
Gotcha, thanks for the info. do you know how easy it is to get tickets? For, example, if I am on the website with credit card in hand waiting for the exact moment for tickets to go on sale, do you think I am guarenteed to get them?
P.S. Like I said, I'm a total nube...and I would be traveling all the way from Maine, so I'm already being stingy with $$$....approximately how much is a ticket? So far I've heard anywhere from $130-$250....and I'm hesitant to commit to a $250 ticket on top of travel expenses, so I'm praying its somewhere under $200
last year i was ready with credit card in hand the second tickets went on sale. i got first tier tickets which i think were like $185 or somewhere around there and then it ended up being somewhere around $210 with the extra costs and shipping and whatever. so, abut $210 was the cheapest last year. [besides those damn early birds, that unfortunately aren't happening this year. ]

Yeah, we got ours the last minute possible.. like in June. We had to print ours out online, which kind of sucked, but Roo was kind of thrown together at the last minute.
We payed $250 plus the fees for printing out online.. so this year I will mos def be one of the many with credit card in hand the day the tix go on sale so I can get a better deal!
I'm buying when they go on sale. It doesn't seem to be a problem getting that week off work. And if it is, I've reached the point with my job where going to Roo is much more important. Gotta have my priorities straight.

You won't have a problem at all if you buy them within the first 10 minutes of going on sale.
As for the xmas present idea... you could always ask for them anyways, and just have the promise of the gift-giver paying for them when they do go on sale.
