One happy discovery this past weekend was the wonder substance that is Gold Bond. If I could do a testimonial I would. Liberal dousings kept discomfort and funk at bay and made the constant wandering from stage to stage much more bearable.
I got some bleeding from the chafe...under estimated it, knew about it but didn't fight it like I should have. I couldn't move at the end of thursday, knew something had to change. Wore and pair of bicycle shorts and free balled it for the entire festival. I will buy multiple pairs of these shorts and that is my plan of attack for every future roo, toooottallly worked the my chaffing never got worse.

Right there with you. Over the years, I find nothing works better than compression shorts to prevent the chub rub. This year at roo, it was all I brought for underwear.
I also found that the wicking-type t-shirts were clutch, and my Frogg Togs Chilly pad was an incredible addition to this year's Roo gear.
hell yes. i was rocking the big yellow bottle at my campsite and the little personal size ones in my backpack in case i ever needed to take a bond-bump.
gold bond and my running shorts with the compression shorts sown in kept me comfortable the entire weekend.

I made the mistake of not bringing my bottle of Gold Bond with me Thursday, and was feeling pretty terrible by time I got back to my campsite. I carried it with me for the next three days and it completely saved my Bonnaroo experience. So glad I read the recommendations from this board before I packed.

YESSS. Next time I'm bringing a huge bottle though. I put it on my feet while I kicked back at our camp (not sure if that's a good idea or not. I had blisters but it felt pretty marvelous).

I never used actual gold bond, but a liberal dousing of baby powder in the shorts right before the trek into Centeroo has always kept me out of trouble!
Strange to read so many people use this, I found Underarmour compression shorts years ago, ones for sports and all. And I have never had this issue, nor the need to use any substance. Some loose fitting shorts and board shorts with these and there is never an issue.
A week and a half ago, I had never used Gold Bond - the very thought of it had always weirded me out a bit to be honest. Now, they might as well hire me to be the company spokesman. I'm never doing a festival without the stuff again.

BUMP!! I cannot stress how amazing gold bond is in the TN heat! I made the mistake of leaving it back at camp last year on Thursday and was miserable. Friday I planned accordingly and it made the day so much more enjoyable
GREAT Gold bond/baby powder alternative: vaseline! I had to to tackle this problem myself so i did some research... The powders do work great, but the vaseline works much longer from my experiences. I guess because of its consistency it sticks on ya much longer... no more problems since!
I too had the chaffing the first year i went..BAD! Didn't ruin the experience by any means but it damn sure made me uncomfortable. Hope this helps!

I use Body Glide and have for a few years when doing activities in the heat. It is a lifesaver. I strongly recommend anyone with a penis to at least pick up some Gold Bond. You may think you are fine but trust me, you will be thankful you did and never go without it.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Question for the girls I guess- Do girls chafe as bad as guys? Like- I know my thighs kind of rub when I walk, so does this mean I should invest?
It doesn't hurt to be prepared, just in case! They make small little travel-sized bottles of Gold Bond ($1 at Target). I carry it with me into Centeroo. And yes, you will need to reapply (because no matter what you do, you're gonna get sweaty), but it feels SO GOOD after you put it on.
Also, if your shoes/feet are bothering you, sprinkle a bit into your shoes while you're sitting down.
