I am SO DONE with recruiting friends for Roo. The Croo I've been going with since 2007 has now whittled down to three -- it started with eight -- and I couldn't be happier. Myself and the two others that remain are SO INTO IT and I don't want ANYONE around me who isn't 100% committed to having an awesome time. A member of the Groop I initially went with texted me yesterday after the lineup dropped. He hasn't been in a few years, and asked me if I was going this year, to which I replied, "of course". Then he proceeds to send me a novel of a message explaining why he doesn't want to go. Like DUDE, I didn't even ask you if you were coming! Don't bring me down with your unsolicited anti-Roo opinions! Anyway, Quack him, just had to get that out. Roo4lyfe.

This is really weird, but I had deja vu reading this post.

Well i thought the other two of our inital group of three that started in 06', actually the other two started in 05' and NO NO WORD!!! me to 06' thankfully, were going to both be returning finally. One missed 2011 and returned in 12'...and the other hasn't been in the last 3 yrs. He's just been doing Wanee instead.
Well the one who hasnt been in the last 3 was talking a good game and is supposedly a HUGE Beatles fan so I thought for sure the line-up would lock him. Now I fear he's waffling. And the other was all set after us going VIP last year....but i suspect he might waffle as well. I suspect he only wants to return if he can do VIP, which we both loved, but finances may be an issue. Eh.
So here I am, nearly on the eve of tickets going on sale and I have to make decisions. Do I go ahead and buy 2 VIPs and hope it works out? Do I hold off on tix when they are liable to be a pretty hot commodity this year? Because while i don't know if VIP has ever sold out, don't think so, I was wondering if the Macca/Petty lineup might bring more of the older monied crowd?
I dunno....i just wish for once since the first 4 yrs I could just KNOW who i was going with and camping with and start getting excited rather than stressing the details dammit. Sigh. So thats my vent.
We've been recruiting for years and this is the first year that the wafflers have been calling. I understand the ticket concern and would just buy them. You'll definitely be able to find someone to buy the ticket if you need to go that road,

Oh I'm in. Till the damn thing stops happening every June or I move outta range. But living in Nashville, after my first Roo, I just can't imagine being so close and yet not going. I mean really. Sitting on my couch a mere hour and a half away at most on that weekend in june? KNOWING what was going down? unimaginable to me.
It's just that I even debated wether or not I could do VIP again, but last year ruined me for GA I think. At least unless I could go RV like we did one year. And I don't have one and can't afford to rent one. Dont get me wrong, I'm hardly a spoiled socialite, lol. I did 6 yrs in the GA trenches, and while I do miss some of the general craziness that comes with it, all of its just a short walk away if you wanna go get down anyways. It's just that buying a VIP package upfront with no guarantees will be a bit of a strain for me now. I'm a working stiff. Even if I get rid of the extra then there's the where/who am i camping with thing. Eh.
But F' it right? It's BonnaROO right? Somehow it'll work out. But I also do miss being there with the two that brought me there too. The three of us were a wrecking crew.
Again....just venting. Ultimately I'll be in Manchester in June....one way or another, one of my favorite places in the world. So theres always that.

I have a number of friends who have expressed interest in going this year, but none are jumping on tickets right off the bat. It's going to be interesting to see who joins me on the farm in June. I could have a huge group, and it could be me and one other person.
One of my best friends and two time Rooster ('07-08) and his wife are thinkin' of goin' this year. I too wish I had a reliable crew so I could start workin' out logistics, but whatever.

I've got new friends going this year who I get to show the ropes. We were down to go before the lineup dropped because it's Roo. We missed the pre-sale but we're all on deck Saturday to get tickets right away.

Eric!! Looking forward to seeing you on the farm this year!! Hangout was a blast! I still owe ya one from Alabama
Mixed feelings this year: lots of new people swearing they're down because of the lineup and some that have gone with me one of the past few years I've gone, but my #1 roo bro that has been every time I have probably can't.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

That is a cereal bummer, my friend. Why can't they make it if I might ask?

This year my girlfriend (Roo virgin) is planing on coming. It'll be my 3rd time in 7 Roo's that i won't be going it alone. Planning a road trip will be different than the my usual flying routine, but all should be good.

I have about 8 friends who say they are "definitely down" to go this year, although none seem to anxious to buy a ticket tomorrow or too eager to start shopping around for rv rentals. The possibility of going solo is getting greater and greater.
I have friends that are "in" but I highly doubt they will see it through. I used to be a person that wouldn't go unless I definitely had friends going, but this year I could care less. If I'm going solo at least I know I will get to make my own experience without hearing "but I don't wanna do that" or "that's way over there, why don't we just stay here?"..It may work our better, who knows!

I have an unusual amount of friends "in" this year. People who have never mentioned it before. The awesome-ness of the lineup is getting folks excited. We'll see how many actually purchase tickets.......we have a solid Roo crew, we'll see how many virgins we get this year.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Haven't been too nervous about getting tix before, but I'm feeling a bit anxious this time for some reason. Guess I'll be camping in front of my computer tomorrow.
this year my husband and i decided we are going alone. no more trying to coordinate meet ups for the drive down, etc. since tuesday the calls/texts/emails are flooding in that everyone wants to go. i told them they are on their own and we can meet up there. it's way too much work

We're all full time students also working through school and I think he's just having trouble justifying the expense this year : /

My first two years I tried to co-ordinate our group. Last year we decided just to meet at the border (we're coming from Ontario), and then again at Wal Mart in Murfreesboro. As long as we leave the same-ish time, things go pretty smoothly. It was such a headache trying to organize everyone, thankless job....and now it's (relatively) stress free getting down there.

I got one very good friend who has committed and sent me a screen shot of his confirmation page. Awesome. 3 others have expressed very strong interest and say they'll commit next payday. My confidence is high in those folks. Then there are the 7 or 8 who've never been to a multi-day fest but are "definitely probably going for sure"...yeah right

Well now one of my two just straight no replied on a direct ask about Roo this year(txt). So thats looking unlikely. The other, we'll see, but he was the unliklier of the two to begin with. but fuck it. Bought my pair today. However it ends up will be as it should.
I'll end up camping with an ex-coworker and his friend who i camped with two years ago when neither of my good friends went most likely. That was cool though because they were both good guys and very prepared campmates. Yet I felt no need to stay with them all the time, and struck out on my own quite a bit that year. Or maybe I'll strike out on my own or with a new camp. Who knows?
But a part of me does wanna "dance with the ones who brought me" again. Here's to hoping they suprise me.

This is my first time coming back since 2002, and it'll be the wife's first outdoor multi day camping festival ever. I've brought her to some stuff where we had hotels, but this'll be the first camp on site, there is no other way to do bonnaroo properly, IMO.
Two sisters are coming with also, they are new to roo as well. Talking to several festival friends from all over who are coming to roo, as in they have their tickets already sure. So were going to have to meet up at Walmart and try and caravan at least 4 cars in. Don't have enough folks for the 24 person groop tent, but we will make it work. Probably 12 folks total together, trying to get more, and have several maybes.

One of my friends just texted me and said they already put the money down for a ticket, and I'm honestly stunned because this has never happened before.
