I'm actually expecting this. AC booked them for Outside Lands, looks like they'll be returning to the stage for 2012. I'd guess it's likely. I see them doing the festival circuit next year, which should include high spots at Coachella and Bonnaroo...

Which closer seems like a good spot for these guys. I'm all for it. Seems like it could be a possibility depending on how much interest they generate in the coming months.

Yeah, I'd say that early signs point to The Shins being one of the bands most likely to appear on the Bonnaroo 2012 lineup, maybe the most likely as far as upper tier undercard acts. Where would they be on the lineup placement? Top 10, right?
And, yeah, I think Sunday Which Stage closer is the perfect spot for them.
I guess I'd be into this. I don't know. I haven't really listened to The Shins since high school but I also have never seen them live so I imagine that seeing them at roo would bring me on some sort of pleasant nostalgia trip. I'm in.

Wouldn't that make them pre-pre-headliner? I could maybe see something like The Shins-->Wilco-->Friday headliner. Or maybe Shins-->Death Cab-->Headliner. Don't know how big DCFC will be though.
yeah, I think the Sunday Which Closer spot is perfect for them. I think they'd be pretty high on the lineup too. I'd say as high as #8-10. I'm not a huge fan or anything. I like some of their stuff...but I'd definitely take them in that spot over The Strokes or Phoenix.

I guess it would be pre pre headliner. I would like to see Death Cab close out Which though. But The Shins - Wilco - headliner would be awesome
I have the Shins #10 on my projected lineup. I think they close out the Which. With Death Cab closing out the Which already in '08, I would think Death Cab is more likely as a preheadiner.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

Yeah, I don't see them as being quite big enough to pre-HL or close Which, but it would be close. I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but if I had to bet on it, I'd say they don't. Tent headliner, Which 2nd-to-last, What pre-pre-HL

The Shins > Wilco on What would be fucking awesome.

Oh man, Juggs, you're slippin'. The Shins are much, much, much better than Broken Bells. Especially their first two records.
Eh, I liked their stuff okay, but a lot of it was way too twee and precious for me. Broken Bells has a little bit more of a beat, a little more energy.
Oh, Inverted World is more 60's throwback pop-rock than it is twee. To me, that's just a great, timeless record. Chutes Too Narrow is good, too, but I could see that one being a little too precious for people. More straightforward modern indie pop IMO; still a great fucking record, though.
Broken Bells are alright but nothing spectacular IMO.

I'm with you on this one. Although getting both sets would be absolutely incredible.
