I didn't see a thread for this, and had not heard anything about it until Saturday. Sir Paul is doing a mini-tour of mainly baseball parks this summer:
July 15, 2011 - Yankee Stadium, New York, USA July 16, 2011 - Yankee Stadium, New York, USA July 24, 2011 - Comerica Park, Detroit, USA July 26, 2011 - Bell Centre, Montreal, Canada July 27, 2011 - Bell Centre, Montreal, Canada July 31, 2011 - Wrigley Field, Chicago, USA August 1, 2011 - Wrigley Field, Chicago, USA August 4, 2011 - The Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, USA
I shall be hitting Cincy, and hitting it hard. They had some $20 tickets, but they sold out quickly, so I may go for the $40 or $60 ones. Who's coming with me?

Got two tickets through a Cubs presale last week. The service charge alone was $40.
Jesus, really? $40? I'm in the waiting room for those right now. Doubt I'll have any luck but we'll see. There's always desperate people on Craigslist days before concerts I guess.
Edit: Just got my ticket for August 1st instead. $29.50 seats only had $11 service fees which I didn't think was too bad considering the situation. I'm in 515 and my dumbass was thinking "well at least I'll be able to watch on the video screen." Oh wait...

Yeah, I should've said I got the $99 tix, thus the hike in service charges.
I was wondering about screens too. I found this article and there's a pic from the Elton John/Billy Joel concert last year with screens on each side of the stage.

Screens would be awesome. It's good to hear the guy who wrote the review for the Elton John show said that sound was good, I'm afraid what it will be like up in the 500s.
I'm going for July 16th. Never been to the bowels of Hell before. I hear it's really nice. But then again, I know a lot of people who are worshipers of the evil empire.
Regardless of location, McCartney is amazing. I saw his show at New Shea two years ago, and it's among one of my favorite shows.
Well, I screwed the pooch on this one. I waited until Wednesday to try to get tickets for Cincy, and the cheapest remaining were $150 each. Of course, there are over 1,000 tickets for sale on stubhub at a jacked up rate. What an incredible coincidence that over 1,000 people who just purchased their ticket suddenly realized they cannot attend. I hate stubhub.

i'd imagine they are gonna go to the show even if they don't sell their ticket on stubhub.
they just wanna see if someone will pay a jacked up price for a ticket they paid face value for.

Yeah ppl where trying to sell tickets for the first 5 rows in Charlotte last summer for $1000. I bet they found some rich guy the bought some. He is such a rare act that some big fans that are wealthy will buy them. When he came to Charlotte last summer it was his first time performing there in like 19 years.

Still can't believe McCartney is coming to GABP.... Apparently his management is friends with Reds owner Bob Castellini or something. This show and MMJ are going to make August a great month!
It was amazing, as expected. And Billy Joel came out for a song during the first encore.
Encore 2: 34. Yesterday (The Beatles song) 35. Helter Skelter (The Beatles song) 36. Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End
Holy quack what an encore. I'd pay so much money just to hear his songs from the Abbey Road medley.
I was there. I am not a Billy Joel fan at all, but it was incredible. There's something about hearing tens of thousands of people sing in unison that gives me chills every time. Incredible show.
