They said 'They said, "Slim pickings here in Iowa. But if this is aimed at me, look up the acts coming to the Racoon Motel and tell me what I should be seeing instead? Like I said, its a wasteland out here and this rubbed me wrong...”'
I saw them 5 or so years ago and really enjoyed the show. If the idea of a band that's halfway between Supertramp/10cc and The Raspberries/Badfinger sounds appealing to you, check them out.
posting your concert itinerary is cool but the whole "look" is just becoming a bit much at this point. Seems like y'all are trying sooo hard to be weird and different.

At the height of the pandemic, Raccoon Motel was the only venue in America that required a rabies shot instead of a COVID vaccine.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

I am here for oddly named venues - Raccoon Motel and Pappy & Harriet's come to mind.

Billie tickets were absolutely absurd. $99+ fees for the back row of the arena. Noped wayyy tf out of that
Its in the round. Did you expect it to be cheap? And there seems to be zero platinum or dynamic either. So she went the Bad Bunny route where tickets are priced to what their perceived value are. So either $100 straight up or you get upset when the $50 nosebleeds get marked up and labeled platinum. Take your pick

most of us do not have wealthy women in our lives to buy our concert tickets for us, hope that provides some context for their frustrations!

No. J already said he can't afford 2024 on Monday when this was announced.

My wife once told me that I looked like I needed help and that’s how I got lucky. If you’re looking for a SugaMomma, I’d suggest going this route.

Cheap? No. $126 for nosebleeds? Wasn't expecting that either. And yeah I'd much rather have a chance at a $50 seat during presale.

You know it's really not that difficult to not be a asshole.

It is a broken record anyway. Nobody is going to be happy when trying to buy tickets these days. Every week its somebody elses tour and every week we are somehow shocked this is happening. If somebody was willing to take the Prince route and make every ticket $30 with fees for a big af residency then the world would be a better place.
I think ticket prices are out of hand but I don't fundamentally have an issue with artists/promoters pricing tickets at what they think the market value is.
There's no way to tell who's a true fan versus who's a speculator/reseller, and if you let everyone have a crack at tickets at what you estimate to be a below-market price, you're creating an arbitrage opportunity that anyone can exploit.

agreed. but the more fan-friendly option is for artists to keep ticket prices low but keep adding shows until demand is met. for an artist that means working harder for the same amount of money, but arguably in the long term you create more goodwill with your fanbase because they got to see you for $50 instead of $150.
this would mean less touring and more mini residencies in major markets, which is bad for fans outside of those markets but also good for artists since (a) they don't have to travel as much and (b) lower expenses due to less break down/build up and travel.
there are also the logistics of getting venues to allow you to put a multiday hold so you can add shows at will, but this already happens so it must be possible.
It's not easy anymore to figure out what an artist true demand is due to how many bots inflate the traffic during an onsale. That doesn't even take into account how many tickets are actually onsale on that date when said promoters hold back tickets to flip on the second market.

Yeah that's definitely all true. And then there's the intricacies of the legality of making tickets non-transferable if you wanted to really fight resellers.
I can't say I truly care about what Billie Eilish charges or does, but I found the discourse around Pearl Jam tickets to be interesting. There's no right solution really. Should a band play more shows or keep tickets cheaper just because we saw them for $30 on the Vitalogy tour? Should older fanclub fans get a guarantee more than some kid who just discovered the band last year? I see both sides of it.
