I’m in Asheville for a few days with the wife and kids. We happened to walk by The Orange Peel and saw that Jenny Lewis is playing tonight, and my wife encouraged me to go by myself, so that’s what I’m going to do. I love stumbling upon a surprise vacation show! My last one was Macy Gray at House of Blues in NOLA in 2003.
Jenny Lewis and her band were excellent, and The Orange Peel was a very cool venue - great sound! It was also a pleasure to meet and hang out with Dave Maynar. Fun fact: Did you know his name isn’t even Dave?

I saw Perpetual Groove there once. I thought it was super cool as well. Plus the venue is next to Wicked Weed Brewing which is cool as hell and brews good beer. Also Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse is across the side street (Hilliard Ave I think). I love that city and particularly those couple of blocks. If y'all are in for a few days, definitely don't sleep on Ukiah. If the kids are of video game playing age, Retrocade or Pinball Museum are some fun nighttime activities.

Yesterday, we did the Treetops Adventure Park, lunch at the Wicked Weed Brewpub, and then the Pinball Museum. It was a fun day all around!

Hell yeah. It's pretty much my all time favorite city. Someday I aspire to be rich enough to afford to live on the outskirts. haha

STS9 presale for 2 night Halloween event in Austin, TX is on sale. 10/31 and 11/1 at Moody. Presale code is moonsocket. sts9.llo.to/e/IxENc5 if I got it right.

Christopher David Maynard is his full name. LOL
You'll also be shocked to know his name isn't ambassador.
Damn I was about to buy tickets for Neil Young in Louisville. Glad I waited, but that's a bummer.
I bought tickets for the rescheduled Dallas show a few hours before it got postponed again. I was worried the next makeup date would be during Bourbon and Beyond. I would have sold the Dallas ticket. I just hope B&B books a replacement I want to see.
Just did an interesting experiment. I checked the next show happening at TD Garden on TickPick, which happens to be Janet Jackson tomorrow night, and they had all-in tickets in the $25 - $35 range. Not my cup of tea (unless her set consists of a 90 minute version of Rhythm Nation), but good to know there are deals like this to be had.
I'm going to flag some upcoming local shows and see what they have available the day before. I may scale back my advanced ticket purchases altogether, except for a handful of high priority artists, and see what I can land on the secondary market on short notice.
I didn't check out other shows on the tour, but first day (and presale) sales for Andre 3000 didn't move a lot of seats for the Boston show, in a 3,500 seat theater. Starting at $93 plus fees, it appears that 25% of the tickets have been sold, at most.
I'm wondering if the secondary market buyers are holding off on this tour, being unsure of the demand here.

he wasn't even selling out the small venues like Pappy's with the same prices. mind blowing they thought there was adequate demand at the size of venue they are using on this tour.

Use their price freeze function so you dont get caught waiting too long. The prime moment usually is 3 days before. Day before can be risky cause everyone looking for last min deals does the same and doesnt jump on deals. Then the lower tix are gone and you gotta pay a lil more

Why would he sell out Pappys? Location is the whole thing with the venue. You cant assume 1200 people will drive all the up to Yucca Valley to see Andre when he had just done the residency at Hollywood Forever.
I caught Janet on this tour and it's definitely worth <$50 if that's what the market is asking.
A lot of backing tracks but mostly on the jams with a lotta choreography. Its probably worth at least $30 solely for Let's Wait a While and What Have U Done For Me Lately.
