Has anyone been to Floydfest in Floyd, VA? I'm thinking about going this year. I heard it's more of a chill, family-friendly event, but all the reviews I've read have been nothing but positive.
This is the first year I will miss in awhile. Love the line up but it's just not in the cards. It's second to none in terms of beauty and very Family-Friendly. There is no drinking except in the beer garden and this includes your campsite.

I have some friends that go every year. It is more family friendly, but you can do your share of partying as long as you aren't too rambunctious. I think I will be going for Saturday this year. I live pretty close and I'm off work, so I can't really pass it up.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna volunteer too. I have some friends who might go with me, but it seems like something I'd have a great time at by myself as well.

My band (Jango Monkey) is playing the "Under the Radar" series this year at Floyd Fest. We play at 7:00 PM on Thursday by the beer garden area (Pink Floyd Garden Stage) and Friday at 2:00 PM at the Global Village stage. We're looking forward to it!

Ok, volunteering is an official go. So do they search you for beer on the way in? I'm not looking to get shit-faced or anything, but a couple cold ones is always great after a long day, and I'd rather not pay for them (hence why I'm volunteering rather than paying for the fest). Thanks in advance...

Finally got everything packed up and ready to go for in the morning. Have to be there before noon to check in. I'm working 9pm-1am every night, so I'm going to be missing quite a few of the bigger acts, but mainly I'm just interested in checking out this fest and having a enjoyable and relaxing weekend. I am rather excited for Trampled by Turtles tomorrow though.
