Not that long. I think he toured last in like '03, hardly suggests that he wont tour ever again. Still doubtful for Bonnaroo but that's mostly a defense mechanism because Bowie at Bonnaroo would literally just explode my head.
From the all the post around the site I think most people think we will have a classic act headline the festival and I would not be mad if it ended up being Bowie. But as a one off show it is not really realistic. I think we have a better chance to get McCartney, the stones(if the 50 yr anniversary tour actually happens), or maybe Neil Young. It would definitely stop the hearts of the Coachella faithful if we got Bowie though

In all honesty, I don't see us getting Bowie. I would love to be wrong, as he is probably my number one dream get, but I'm realistic. I do think the Stones are more probable, but even they seem far fetched. If we do have a classic headliner, I would still be shocked it it were anybody but U2.
I see the Stones suggested a lot but I'm skeptical. They've never been part of the festival scene, plus they can make more money on their own. I love the Stones but you have to notice how every tour for the past 15 years or so is carefully planned to maximize profits.
Stevie Wonder made a great classic headliner in '10. Prince would be a good follow up. I hope whoever is booked for next year won't be crammed on the Which stage like Buffalo Springfield.
