Yeah I saw a very mangey black dog looking rather scared that was heading from What to Which when Arcade Fire let out. As a dog owner I would never subject my pet to that

I saw a bunch of dogs over the weekend but they were all with itinerant looking folks. I think its just rotten to take a dog into a crowded, hot environment like that.
there was a guy with a parrot beside me. the parrot was fully shaded and well cared for all weekend. i agree that its way to hot for dogs. i sort of feel that way about babies. i saw a few babies and small children. i just think its too severe for them there.
A parrot is pretty neat... I'm kind of baffled how they got him in though. The dog beside me left many unpleasant presents around us and our neighbors.
Yeah there was a guy in campground selling shirts. He had his dog. He said he told them it was a service animal for his depression and that the dog had a certificate to be with him at all times. We gave him some water. Poor dog.

He is always there, he got it registered as a service animal because of anxiety attacks. I have seen him from 08 on.

Yeah, I've been seein' this dude since '09. I know I've talked to him once over the past few years...not sure which though. Really nice gentleman and I recall he keeps a spray bottle to keep his bird cool. I generally don't think it's a good idea to bring pets to 'Roo though. Dogs would and are probably miserable. All the heat, sights, sounds, smells, and people? Can't imagine it's their favorite place on Earth.
yeah its probably the same guy. ive never seen a bird like this one. its very tame like a dog. he would rough house with it and scratch it like you do a dog. it was very sweet. its featured on one of the roo posters - perched up on top of the letter O at the end i think. this bird also can jet ski.
A bird seems like it's pretty well equipped to handle hot weather. A dog or a very small child, not so much. I did see a couple with three children under the age of 5; those kids seemed to be having a blast. I didn't see a dog all weekend that looked like he was enjoying the heat or dehydration.

I saw a gorgeous puppy inside Centeroo around sun rise after the late night sets at some point. He was white and very clean and his owner looked like he had some serious credentials (either Total Access or above). Thats the only way I could see a dog being comfortable or staying well taken care of during the weekend.
Poncho aka Mr P has always been my favorite service dog at Bonnaroo!
There is a whole thread devoted to him around here somewhere, but I can't find it. The thread is mainly 'The Adventures of Ponnaroo' - you can read it here . . . but without all the fan comments
edit: you can still get a button or magnet of him in the inforoo store too www.cafepress.com/Inforoostore (scroll down to 'Buttons/magnets')
edit edit: Since every time his story gets bumped there seem to be a few who can't take a joke, I should clarify: Mr. P is very real, but the story is a fictionalized account of his 2006 Bonnaroo adventure. No Ponchos were harmed in any way!
If anybody can get the search to find the original thread, please post it. It's much more effective if you can see the full size photos.

One of our neighbors had a great dane or something, big white dog. He seemed happy and content all weekend - playing fetch with a tennis ball when they were at camp. Not sure what they did with him when they were all gone for the day/shows. It was too bloody hot for me, not sure how a dog is able to make it through the weekend in the heat...
