Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So my fiance Carling and I have been trying to figure out when in 2012 to get married and since we had the best weekend of our lives this year we figured why not do the wedding at Bonnaroo! Our original plan was to go to Jamaica but we've decided to push that back and go there for the honeymoon.
I have done quite a bit of searching and haven't come up with a lot of information on local laws ect so I am hoping some of the inforoo-ers who reside in Coffee County or Tennessee can help with some questions.
First, we didn't walk past the arch on Thursday, is that entrance open on Thursday? We'd like to do the ceremony there at sunset.
Second, I have a friend who is going to perform the ceremony, what should he get ordained as? The American Fellowship Church keeps coming up on google but I can't decipher if they are legit or not. I have learned that Universal Life Church is not a good choice.
Should we be contacting Bonnaroo regarding this matter? I can't seem to find their information email address.
Do they have Bonnaroo marriage certificates?
Most importantly, we feel awful for missing the brunch this year so we'd appreciate the opportunity to come to the brunch in 2012 and would love to welcome any fine folk who would like to come to the ceremony and subsequent party.
Thanks so much inforoo, not only for helping with these matters but for making our first year (this year) successful.
Yes the arch is open on Thursday. That entrance never closes. I know there are a couple other gettin' married at Bonnaroo threads around here. I'll see if I can't dig any up.
::edit:: Okay, after searchin' fer a while I can't find any of the previous discussions on the board, even though I'm pretty sure there was one that started early this year or late last year about gettin' married at 'Roo X. But I'll put a link to the Silent Disco Proposal:
And then there's this page (I think one or both of them posted here about this many moons ago) about a couple plannin' on gettin' married at this summer's 'Roo:
The only problem with hiring a JP is having to buy them a ticket to get in. LOL.
Just put a shout out on the boards that you need someone who's ordained...I know there's a handful of people going to Bonnaroo that already are. No reason to buy someone else's ticket!
Again, the question is: do you actually want to get married (as in, a legally binding marriage between two people that will have effect in all 50 states)? Or are you looking for some hippie, naturalistic, "let's celebrate nature" bullsh*t? Because the former requires that you look up the legal standards for marriage in Manchester, TN, while the latter just requires some idiot who was ordained online.
LOL, not only legal in the states but more importantly Canada.
And yes, corn can replace rice on that day. Trust me, I won't mind at all!
