From an article in the A.V. Club
Newswire Screw it, we're doing a music festival too. Introducing A.V. Fest. by Josh Modell July 21, 2011
Inspired almost solely by the title of the first Cranberries album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We, we here at The A.V. Club have decided to have ourselves a music festival. In true A.V. Club fashion, we're flying a little bit by the seat of our pants, but we hope you'll come along for the ride.
A.V. FEST: SEPTEMBER 10-11, 2011. CHICAGO.
The two-day festival will feature 12 bands, and will take place outside the Hideout. The entrance is at Wabansia and Elston, just a hop and skip away from where North Ave. meets I-94. We'll be announcing the full lineup over the next couple of weeks, as well as ticket information (short answer: SUPER cheap). But for now, we'll kindly ask you to mark your calendars in anticipation of...
ARCHERS OF LOAF
THE THERMALS
TOKYO POLICE CLUB
EEF BARZELAY OF CLEM SNIDE PLAYS THE MUSIC OF JOURNEY
TELEKINESIS
And lots more to come. We hope to see you there. I'm going to try and convince my co-workers to have a "nerding booth," which is like a kissing booth, but you get to come nerd out with us instead. Watch the Newswire for further announcements. This is not, it should be noted, the annual Hideout Block Party, which this year takes place on September 24 and looks awesome: Andrew Bird, Mavis Staples, etc. Go here for details on that one!
SUPER cheap, Archers of Loaf, and The Thermals. Nice.

The Hideout is the best bar in Chicago, maybe the universe. Used to go to Bloodshot Records fests there and catch Andrew Bird. Can't believe Archers are playing, a perfect fit. God, I might have to drive back for this.
