We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Apparently you can maybe do anything you want in the Idaho section of Yellowstone because no one lives there and it would be impossible to assemble a jury. The District of Wyoming includes land in Idaho and Montana, and the language in the 6th Amendment says that a person be tried by a jury from both the state AND district where the crime was committed, and no one meets that criteria in that section, whereas a few people do live in the overlap with Montana, so the loophole doesn't apply there.
I'm sure they'd figure something out, but it's an interesting bit of trivia.
Yeah, this was interesting in 2016...but not actually plausible based on location and if premeditated, immediately tosses the idea iirc. Although I get my legal advice from Dr. Joe so...
But tbh, if the government wants to fuck you they’re going to fuck you; no gimmicky loophole will slow them down.

Wasn't a poster here in 2016. Sorry if this has been discussed before, I guess. First I'd heard of it. Yes, the idea is that they would get you for conspiracy in whatever state you came from.
Much like Druid, I am to the point of this mess that I am way more hype about the idea of going to IKEA next weekend than I should be. First time I have left the Knoxville area all year, I think.
I wish we had an Ikea in driving distance. I haven't left Nola this year, I didn't drive my car for 4 or 5 months.
I only ever go to a few stores and now with it being the holidays, those places are even worse.
I miss adventures, but I think I hate people/crowds even more now. I think I'm forever changed.
I dunno if 3.5 hours is considered driving distance, but I am doing it. Haha. Same on adventures. It doesn't matter where really. I just need to go somewhere. We're also planning a state park trip for the winter since I get a discount. Figured a cabin would be pretty safe yet away from everything.
got sick of waiting for it to be safe enough to go to the salon and finally just chopped 6 inches off my hair this weekend. it's hat season, baby!
I did that a few months ago. It had been something like two years since I’d been for a haircut, and my hair was shedding constantly, so I finally broke down and chopped some off.

I did go to the salon and freaked out during and for two weeks after. I was about to pigtail cut and then shape or myself. Luckily with curls you can get away with that.

The restaurant is closed. But you can still get a cinnamon roll.

There’s a cop in full uniform and vest with POLICE across his chest sitting in a truck outside my apartment. He keeps circling the block but parking in the same spot. I keep staring out the window at him.

pigtail cut is exactly what i did. doesn't look quite like my usual cut, but no worse than when i've gone to stylists who have no idea what to do with curly hair. just glad for it to not be a long tangled mess anymore.

Go take him a cookie.
him and like 5 or 6 of his friends just rolled up on a house across the street. Currently just talking with someone from the house on the porch. I’m not sure if he knows there’s 2 officers in his backyard though.

Speaking of which, does anyone know any restaurants in that part of Atlanta that has a patio and doesn't have their head up their ass with masks and distancing? Looking at you 10goldbees. I figure with the seven hour round trip plus whatever we spend in the store, we might have to eat at some point.

So there's a place here where you wash/style your hair at home or something and then they cut your hair dry. Apparently, that's the correct way to cut curls.
I'm a 3B type, so I get some inconsistent curls and cutting dry is supposed to help blend those pieces and ensure you have perfect curls everytime you do your hair. But it'll like $80+ just for a fucking dry haircut.
I did go and get it cut not long ago and I didn't like it regardless of safety measures and the cut is just ok. I'll end up touching it up as it grows out (if not before) because she cut some of the wrong curls and they aren't happy about it. I feel like I've never gotten a great cut, it always looks better when I cut it.

i wonder how r thomas is handling it? they are already in this weird tent and there are birds everywhere.
if you haven't been r thomas is super crunchy and is open 24 hours (edit, just checked and they have reduced hours due to covid, still open late on weekends though). consistent post-show stop whenever i'm in atlanta. saw andre 3000 there one time after a phish show.
During the first few months of quarantine I would just shave the sides of my head, but each time I did so I'd end up taking the line higher and higher, so eventually the top was just unruly. Then in August I didn't want to go into a salon but wanted it to look good for my new job so I shaved everything off. Then I almost tried growing it out again but learned that if I can't make a really simple cut even on both sides, then I definitely have no reason trying to fade my hair in. So I'm gonna wait until next year to get a proper haircut and in the meantime bald is back, baby!

The key, in addition to using multiple plastic size covers (I use the 1 and 2), clippers usually have a blade adjuster on the clipper itself which allows you to make each plastic blade cover cut at different lengths.
I do 2 on the top, 1 on the sides, 0 below the ears. In the transitions I use the clipper adjuster with each of the plastic covers to get that in between length that the plastic covers can’t get. And if I fuck it up, I just take the shortest length I was cutting at and hack it all down.
Before the pandemic, I would get my hair cut at sport clip, go in a month later and get my free ear and neck trim, go home and cut the rest off for free, do it again the next month to use up the 2nd free ear / neck trim. Then I’d return a month later and get a full haircut, rinse and repeat.
