Totally agree, JHo. I'm glad I don't have to go through that anymore.
Ah, but don't you miss the random craziness? Such as the one dude who refused to meet me in public but insisted I come over to his house to "meet his dog"?

Hahaha That's amazing. I once got an email from a girl that just said "I'm a kick ass girl with kick ass scooter."
No name. No Nothing. I would have responded if she had left a name.
Still should have done it anyway, ask for her name or something.
Early this year, I was dating a girl. The first two dates were pretty good. After that, she only wanted to go meet up at her place. And by her place, I mean the spare bedroom at her friends' apartment. So now I'm around chain smoking juggalos with a gal who doesn't want to be seen in public with me. That was a fun week and a half, until I realized that's all she wanted.
after finding out a few of my quirks a couple of days in a row.
Do I dare ask?
Nothing too nuts. The specific items that provoked his statement was my aversion to long sleeves and close toed shoes (most people here know that already!) and my hatred for making phone calls (I have never ordered delivery and I am consistently behind of doctor's appointments because I am too afraid to call)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Hate for you guys to miss out on a great American tradition of pizza delivery, did you know you can order pizza on-line and they will deliver it to you. No phone call needed.
I figured you both knew about on-line ordering, I just hate for telephonophobia(which is an actual phobia) to get in the way, of one of the best things about the times we live in. That being, having the ability to think, 'I want this to eat tonight' and then have, despite some minor flaws/limitations, what you wanted at your doorstep in 30-45 minutes.
Thanks Scrog....had no idea their was a clinical name for it....I guess if Bonzai and I are ever stuck in a room with our legs broken....craving pizza...and enough juice left in the phone for one call....one of us would have to get over it ;-) I have a feeling we would just go without pizza. LOL
You guys can add me to that list. I will not talk on the phone to strangers. I actually will go out of my way to not talk on it at all. I'll text you all day but don't think for a second about me picking up if you call.
I am like you LD, I will talk on the phone, I just do not like to. Knoxville I had no idea what the name was either, I know there is a long list of phobias and phone had to be on it, so I googled it.

Perhaps we were never meant to be, Knox! I have always said that the remedy to my problem is a husband who will do it for me!

Me too. My phobia is not just strangers, although strangers are worse! My VM is full because I hate checking it.. which would mean that I would have to call you back.

I don't have a phobia of talking to strangers or on the phone. I am just massively introverted, so meeting people just makes me uncomfortable. I posted this on my facebook a little bit ago. It basically sums up my social interactions.
I saw that when you posted it. I never pegged you as "massively introverted". Maybe it's because Abra balances you out nicely!
I should clarify and elaborate my original statement about why the guy thought it was so weird. I didn't want to bore people with details! It was not just the fact that I am afraid of the phone, but it's the fact that it makes no sense with the rest of my personality- I am generally outgoing, friendly, bubbly and happy... but then I freeze up when it comes to the phone (I also don't ask for directions, don't return food in the restaurant..). My high school psych teacher used to tell me that she'd love to psycho analyze me. Stereotypical Gemini duality, perhaps?

This is has been a particularly hard week for my grandfather and his battle with dementia. If you all could send some good vibes, good thoughts, prayers, or whatever, I would greatly appreciate it. It looks like our family Christmas is going be put on hold

Definitely, I had one grandfather who had Alzheimer's and a grandmother (who basically raised me) had dementia after she was hospitalized. It's really tough to watch somebody go through that.
Thanks guys, I appreciate it. This news has put a damper on my week. It's been really hard on my grandmother, trying to take care of him. Since my dad passed when I was young, my grandfather has been the father figure to my sister and I... he walked my sister down the aisle at her wedding, he's the one that I send a Father's Day card to each year.
