Thanks. we’re done with her. Once our landlord gets back from vacation, she’s blocked.
Have you told her about all the residual radiation that's probably emanating from her walls still because the previous tenant was a wifi engineer and tested all the new, unapproved tech at home? Or how you saw techs from the phone and cable companies snooping around her place together while she was out? I don't actually like the idea of playing to people's ridiculous fears, but maybe she'd be more comfortable if she were somewhere else, and you surely would.
I have a schizophrenic family member, who often thinks "they" are trying to make her fail. She believes anything (especially technology) that doesn't work correctly, or how she thinks it should, has been tampered with. It's sad because she's a wonderful person and generally does well with objective reality, but that disease can cause some bizarre delusions that are very hard to shake.
I’d be lying if I said my first impulse wasn’t to mess with her a little bit. But we’re just not engaging with her anymore. She’s clearly got something going on and I’m not trying to make it worse.

Does anyone here own and use a weighted blanket they like? In my ongoing effort to throw every possible solution at my insomnia, I'm thinking of getting one, but trying to suss out which would be good to buy in the sea of "BEST WEIGHTED BLANKET OF 2024 (sponsored by Big Weighted Blanket)" articles out there is kind of daunting.

have you considered making your own? i did it myself, took an old quilt and filled it with gold bullion.

I like my weighted blanket, and based on the amount of times I fall asleep watching TV while using it, I suppose it helps with sleep!
I feel like if you get one in the size and color that you want and at the price that works for you, you really don't need to worry too much about which has the best reviews. My only recommendation would be to make sure you get one that's easily washable.

Biggest suggestion of the weighted blanket is to make sure you get the weight that's proportionate to your size. I wanted something super heavy for my anxiety and a doctor told me there's a reason it's proportionate to your weight.
I love using mine in the winter / fall but we live in an old building with window A/C units so I can't use it in the summer for sleeping, but I use it after work to decompress.

I can't sleep without mine now. I'm a fan on while sleeping girl. It took me so much work to finally sleep, it's an essential item for sleep now. When I go out of town or on vacation, I can't sleep for shit.
I'm not sure if I bought for my size/weight. I cocoon inside it.
I have a cheap weighted blanket from Target. Can’t sleep without it (and my Casper Mattress). Also have a personal fan blowing at my face. Staying in a hotel or away at family is a nightmare.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Question for the room: Do you tip music festival bartenders?
Having worked in hospitality, knowing a lot of people who worked or work in hospitality, and I guess just being raised a certain way, I *always* tip someone working service, even if the extent of the transaction is that they just went to the cooler and handed me a can of beer.
But I'm in this dumb argument with people on GovBall reddit who are big mad about the high cost of drinks at the festival and think being asked to tip on top of that is a grave injustice. I mean, to me, paying for your drink but not tipping is just lining the pocket of the entities that are actually screwing you (the vendors, the festival, LiveNation, whoever) while punishing working stiffs who are just trying to get by. Seems kinda backward to me.

So, what do you think, Inforoo? AITA?
At an event, I normally tip $2ish for a drink.
At the music festival I went to over Memorial Day weekend, part of my vip package included a free 24-pack of beer so I didn’t have to buy a drink at a vendor the entire weekend. Plus they were also selling cases for like $45 at all the drink spots which is crazy cheap compared to paying $10-$20 per drink.
Also, the wristband paying method at all the vendors was wonky and the fastest and easiest way for the vendors to get it to work was to skip thru the tipping page with no tip.

I always tip as well. However, I saw recently (probably here somewhere?), that the beer stands are typically manned by volunteers supporting local organizations (youth sports, churches, who knows?), and the tips go to that organization, so you're not necessarily supporting someone just trying to get by. That's not to say that I won't still tip, but I'll probably check to make sure my tip isn't going to Turning Point USA or Scientologists or something.

Good point. I don’t want my drunk ass tip going to the re-elect Trump campaign. Or worse yet, Martha-Ann Alito’s fucking flag collection.
