Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
1. MMJ - Black Metal 2. SCI - Joyful Sound (w/ dance routine) or Tennessee Jed 3. Buffalo Springfield - Mr. Soul 4. Galactic - Stanton Moore's crazy drum solo 5. Big Boi - Rosa Parks 6. Bela Fleck - Sunset Road 7. Arcade Fire - Haiti or Wake Up 8. Ben Sollee - The Globe 9. STS9 - not familiar with the names of their songs, but any would be good 10. WSP - Surprise Valley
As long as it has MMJ (preferably not "Black Metal" as 'Roo footage is pretty prominent in the official video), Buffalo Springfield, clocks in at two or more hours, and has a decent bit of crowd reactions/interviews I'd buy. Make it a two disc set and my busted ass wallet will be happy to open.
Would love Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears and Ben Sollee to make it onto the DVD...I just hope for one this year...heck maybe even go back to multiple discs!!!!

I really feel like Bonnaroo should try to organize, with the signing of a major act, the release of that act's concert on DVD. I just imagine that it wouldn't be very profitable.
Yeah it's really frustrating to see film cameras at pretty much every set and then hardly see any footage of actual shows. Just a few songs per set on youtube that get taken down eventually.
It wouldn't mind having not having a DVD if they streamed more shows or posted more on YouTube or Vevo. Which the wont do cause there is no money in that. What Bonnaroo needs to do is get a TV deal like Glastonbury. Maybe with Fuse or Palladia. They would make money and we could see footage often. You DVR it and have it for as long as you want. Is this likely? Probably not but something should be done if they are not going to provide a DVD.

They could show the videos and make money on the advertising that goes along with it. Or they could create a fan club type thing and charge a yearly fee (say 19.99) to get access to full streaming shows and other cool content. There's ways they could make money off the videos if they were so inclined.
As for getting a TV deal.....they had one with Fuse for a few years. The shows were always decent but nothing too amazing.
I just wish they would have continued that "Bonnaroo 365" type thing on the site. When they added the full Raconteurs show video I was excited because I thought more were coming.
I agree. There are a good bit of options but they don't seem to be pursuing any. The day after Glastonbury there were tons on footage videos posted on YouTube. I was glad to see that Arcade Fire posted the entire show from Roo though. Don't know how they cut that deal. I would love to see Bonnaroo make a deal with Palladia. Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, and a few other fest have over three hours of footage for multiple years on Palladia. Would love to see Roo do something like that. The DVD's never have a ton of footage.

AC/S doesn't have the final say in who makes the dvds or what is done with the footage. In most cases I'm pretty sure the artists/record labels have the rights to the footage and decide whether or not they are on the dvds/vevo/whatever. More pressure should be put on the artists/labels if you want to see more live footage released.
Oh I'm sure it's not just AC/Superfly's decision. I know that labels and artists have a say as well. I just think it was a huge missed opportunity with David Byrne especially.

The 2009 DVD was shit. Best lineup ever and they managed not to capture ANY of the best moments of any sets. Terrible, really. If 2011 was a repeat of that they shouldn't bother
