I don't think I've ever felt the need to commit it on this but the crowd was awesome! The whole place had such a great energy to it. Tweedy kept commenting on how "you guys are really feeling it."
It's the Ryman baby. The place is haunted by the spirits of every great country musician. The wood in the seats are soaked with sweat from music fans all over the world, so I expect nothing less than perfection.
The last time I was there was for Paul Simon and he said "not many places humble me as a musician, but the Ryman certainly qualifies". Pretty much sums it up.
I'm so jealous of everyone who got to see Wilco last weekend. My buddy was bragging that he got tickets for $30 on the street, and I wanted to punch him in the balls.

Well, what have you listened to?
Kicking Television is the live album to get and YHF is the studio album to get, with Summerteeth being a close second.
It seemed like from your question you have tried listening to some stuff and failed to like them, which would make convincing you somehow to get into the band kind of irrelevant.

I haven't seen them since the Sky Blue Sky tour, but the new record is quickly becoming one of my favorite Wilco albums. As far as I can tell, it holds up live too.
Also, hearing all of these Ryman stories makes me wish I still lived in Tennessee.
Let that someone know that based on their taste in music I would have to assume they are a tremendous ass clown.
I don't know, I like Wilco but I could see how they could be classified as dad rock.
Sorry, this is all my fault. I'm a dad and I like them immensely. I won't divulge any other bands that I like to prevent jeopardizing their cool status.

Thank you. I've avoided becoming a dad for quite some time now to keep Wilco cool. I'm assuming it would be a little much to ask you to stop being a dad at this point.
YES YES YES YES!! Wilco in 2012! Saw them at the Peabody in St. Louis in October. The new album sounds lovely live. Usually, Wilco plays the Pageant in STL, but the Peabody was just renovated and reopened and has more seats. I enjoyed the show and the venue was gorgeous, but I think the venue and Nick Lowe brought a more subdued crowd to the show. I have nothing against dad rockers as long as they rock, but there wasn't a lot of movin and groovin in that crowd. I can't listen to Wilco and stay still. We wanted to catch tickets to at least one of the Chicago shows in December, but we had no luck scoring tickets.
The show they played in Tucson a few years back was much more the Dad Rock scene than the Bros and it was on campus here at Bro central. Although it was during Summer so maybe that cut down on the Bros
