I've got some AA battery powered speakers, but need more kick. I've seen the jawbone but am looking for something that can handle vibration better...all ears.
Mike has one of these and it's amazing. We brought it to the brunch this year and was very handy for music and announcing the scholarship winners using the microphone. You can find it for less than listed on amazon.
This looks very promising...I love the design itself, looks much more capable of handling bass and high db output than the jawbone jambox unit....What kind of battery life do you get with it, and how long/demanding is the recharge?

Battery life is About 10-12 hours depending on how loud you're playing it and whether or not you have ipod charge on or not. Can't say how long it takes to charge. Anytime it's been low we've been able to plug it in to keep the music going. We use it by the pool a lot and don't have to charge it very much at all. There are lights on the side that indicate the amount of battery left.
It gets VERY loud. It's basically a practice amp with an ipod dock and rechargeable battery (comes with a microphone too). Pretty badass IMO.
i've been using my makita job radio... it uses the lithium ion batteries my tools use.. the smaller battery gets 8 hours of time. the batteries charge in 15 minutes. brought 2 fully charged batteries and the radio with me last year and it lasted as long as i needed.
if you have any dewalt, ryobi, makita or milwalkie cordless tools you may want to see what they offer in job radios...
