I haven't been around much lately, but I am Mooging it 3 strong at the Downtown Inn. Unfortunately, I probably won't arrive until kinda late Friday, and will have to leave kinda early Sunday. I originally bought my weekend pass when I lived MUCH closer, but this lineup is too killer to pass up.
Do I want to go to Asheville for just Friday thru Monday, or Thursday thru Tuesday, or what? What's going on before and after Moog that I should stay and check out?
Major costs to me here look like if I stay in a hotel, and how long I hold a rental car.
Didn't we decide on Saturday @ Tupelo Honey? Not sure if we chose a time, though. I'm not much of a morning person, so how 'bout 11:30-noon'ish?
Or better yet, maybe we should call a few days early to get a reservation @ 11am for ~15 people? This way, late stragglers can have the early bird's seats as they leave. (Oh, and Jade, this gives you more time to drive up without leaving at the buttcrack o' dawn!)
We might not be able to eat at the same table (unless they seat us on the covered/heated patio area) but at least we can steal biscuits off each others' plates!)
We are now accepting reservations for our new restaurant at 1829 Hendersonville Rd in Asheville. Our south location accepts reservations for parties from 2 to 20! For parties of seven or more please call us at: 828-505-7676. We happily accommodate walk-ins at both locations.
Please Note: Reservations are only available for the south restaurant.

Looking for a hotel room downtown if anyone decides to cancel. Also, if anyone is renting a house and needs extra occupants, it's going to be myself and another.
I am *this* close to finalizing plans. I would be 100% in if I was smart enough to bring my purse to work, but alas I forget everything.. everywhere... all the time... It's as official as it can be without a credit card!
I'll be able to give the official go later tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest! I'll PM you, GLand, when that happens! I will be there 3 days, a definite for Brunch and creeping in Holls and Jack's room at the Downtown Inn! (You two are bestest)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I hope not, but if I have to get third tier.. what is 20 bucks anyway? Nothing I can do about it now.. but I'll still hope for second!!! <crossing fingers>
EDIT: I might try to leave work 5 minutes early- just enough time to (hopefully)get my ticket, but we'll see. I'm an hourly employee so I don't necessarily have that luxury.

LD, are you sleeping on the couch in the cabin? You may. I don't think my brother is going at this point. Or maybe Vector Viking will let you sleep with him
Elmore, if you cannot find a place to stay, and don't mind bringing an air mattress you are welcome to floor space at the cabin.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I stayed out on Tunnel Road last year. It's not a bad drive at all (like 15 minutes) and plenty of free parking in the garage at the Asheville Civic Center. Motel 6 ran us around $55 a night (but it may be more that weekend) and a really nice Waffle House in walking distance.

Intentional oxymoron?
Wow, I just envisioned a WH with white linen tablecloths, fine china, a maitre d' and coat check, and piped-in Musak. So... what kind of wine best complements the scattered, smothered & chunked hash browns anyway?

Hey hey .. This is where I started my culinary career! Sure everyone thought they were just grits till I added bacon to them! At 5 am there is no where else to get quality service and a cup of mud.
