Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've actually cleared room on the CC but I won't be able to order till I get back from ATL. I'll be going solo to this as there just aren't enough vacation days for Mrs. GL.
Thanks. I got a feeling I'm gonna love this line up.
Trying to crack their facebook writer. Haven't gotten anything yet. They do have a good sense of humor though.
So weird coincidence but literally 11 minuets after I posted this here they posted this on facebook in response to my trying to coax a clue out of them:
THE FORECASTLE FESTIVAL Yeah, right. You think I'm gonna crack that easy? Pssh.

Thanks to all those who have roused my interest in this festival. Looks like we'll be buying our tickets tomorrow! I would have never known much about this festival until probably it was too late to go if it hadn't been for you die-hards :-)
It looks like it's gonna be an awesome line-up. Muthaquackin' Clutch!
So, who are the most likely other headliners? I've been reading, just wondering what are our best guesses?
Kinda exciting that no one really knows. Someone earlier posted that Wilco will be there, but I have seen no other confirmation. Looking forward to surprises tomorrow. The Roo lineups have been kinda anti-climatic that past couple of years.

Seems like people are assuming Wilco and Jack White. Not sure what the merit is behind that other than they have both played Bonnaroo.
With AC Entertainment on board now, I'm curious to see just how much this festival grows. You gotta figure they're gonna have more money to work with which, as we all can assume, will bring in bigger bands. Not that they haven't had big bands in the past, but I'm assuming the undercard will get better as well. The only change that won't happen will be the size of the venue, obviously. Not sure how the main stage will be situated this year, but I went in 2010 for the Flaming Lips, and my guess is that lawn area holds maybe 10-15,000 at most. That's not to say I'm expecting this festival to be Bonnaroo version 2.0, but I'd assume with the changes and the way tickets have been selling, it'll be much more crowded than it was in 2010.
I can't find the past lineups but here are some acts that have perfromed:
Flaming Lips, Smashing Pumpkins, Panic, Black Crowes, Black Keys, Spoon, Devo, Cake, Band of Horses, She & Him, Bassnectar, Tortoise, De La Soul, Sleater-Kinney, Pretty Lights, Zappa plays Zappa, GZA, Girl Talk, Big Boi, Z-Trip, Umphrey's, Bisco, Yonder, Del McCoury and Del the Funky Homosapien.
For the record, I wouldn't go as far to say that any band with some sort of connection to MMJ or Bonnaroo/AC should be the only bands considered. We all have diverse tastes in music and that goes for the guys in MMJ, as well as AC and everyone else involved. I just hope the festival isn't so good that I have skip this new Bunbury festival that is like 5 minutes away from my house. It's so much easier to stay close to home. For me, it'll all depend on the lineups for both.

Surprises are good. I guess Neil would be a big surprise and sweet as hell to see Neil and MMJ together.

Neil makes real sense here, with Insider's info that they were very close to being booked at Bonnaroo. Maybe AC just moved them over to the new Roo Jr.

This is not entirely true. Forecastle has had the fest on The Great Lawn, The Wharf, and The Belvedere on different occasions, but never all 3 at the same time. All 3 of these places are right next to each other and are all part of Waterfront Park. I'm not saying it will happen this year, but they could definitely extend the festival grounds through the entirety of Waterfront Park in the future.

Sorry I didn't even think of that. I went to the fest on the last days of 2009 and 2010 (when it was by the Belvedere in 2009 and at Waterfront or whatever in 2010). Even though I'm not far away in Cincinnati I don't know my way around the Ville too well. That could totally work. We'll have a similar setup here for Bunbury. Where Bunbury is being held is very narrow (from north to south, where it hits the river) but is about a mile long or something. Certainly not the kind of walking you would do at Bonnaroo, so it's definitely feasible and probably not enough to wear you out. That being said, the exact location of where Forecastle was held in 2010 I enjoyed the experience and the views much, much more, with the band's backs to the river. Biggest problem with Bunbury is the lawn at Sawyer Point won't be as deep as the one at Forecastle 2010, though it is wide, and the view of the river is pretty much obstructed.
