Wish we had gotten to meet more of you! But, that's our fault for not making more of an effort :-)
We loved Louisville, and enjoyed much of the festival, but wish we had rode it out with Bacon on the rail for MMJ. LOL, such dedication Bacon! I don't think we would have lasted.
Now that I'm back at my 2nd day of work, finally walking around with a clear head (Ha!), and now that I'm all caught up on sleep, I can say without a doubt that this past weekend was a pure, neverending blast! The Galt House made us feel like we were on vacation, and the festival (even though it was in the middle of a city and had no camping) still felt like a full-on 3 day festival to me.
I do have some regrets (as always) like not getting to meet any of you fine ppl and not getting my ass outta bed early enough to enjoy some good grub around town, but all-in-all it was a relaxing, exhausting, mind-blowing utopia of a weekend. Glad everyone had as much fun as we did, and hopefully they'll blow us away again next year!

Loved this festival. The size was perfect - it was so great to realize that I had an extra 10 minutes and that was plenty of time to hop over to another stage and see a few songs. And to be able to get a good spot! The closeness of everything rocked. The people were friendly and welcoming, being right on the river was awesome both for the views and the breezes. I even think the rain helped because the sunsets were killer. And the pesto mozzadilla I had was better than the ones I've had at Bonnaroo.
Also didn't hurt that we got VIP wristbands in the confusion with Roll Call cards on Friday (was it only Friday?). Air conditioned bathrooms, couches to sit on and still be right in the middle of everything was awesome. I felt special but not removed from everything.
Plus the music. MMJ soundcheck was possibly the most magical music experience ever for me. And then I just loved how vibrant their night show was. I was donedonedone after that so was glad I didn't get boat tickets, but after sleeping in a real bed, I wish I would've been able to go. And then I got on the rail for Clutch, which was just awesome. I don't think I saw a bad set.
Ditto what everyone else said, Forecastle was awesome! I had been very stressed at work, over-scheduled in all aspects of life and wondering if I could even properly enjoy Forecastle, but like what Holls said, it was perfect and just what I needed!
Perfect little details:
I was with DCBee and got the VIP wristbands the first night which was an unexpected bonus.
Galt House didn't have our room ready so they apologized by comping our parking AND our new room was just across the hall from DCbee!
Um, how perfect was the weather for the sound check? Just when it got too hot a summer shower started, just when you felt too wet it stopped, and then really the lightning was a good thing for what we ended up experiencing under the bridge! I bumped into Holls & a few of you Inforoosters at the sound check! ;D
Little 5'3 30-something mom me was center pit for Clutch and I didn't have to fight against moshers or angry folks, just fellow fans rocking out. That was the COOLEST experience, to be so close, to be able to rock out like that without any anger or defense.
Being able to go back to our room at the end of the night, look at the view, drink a cocktail, order room service, take a SHOWER and sleep in a real bed.
And then great shows, great vibes (seriously nice people there!), great location, in general great weather. A great great GREAT weekend!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Just got done walking the dog at Waterfront park and re-lived quite a few memories...only in Louisville could a festival run outta PBR Glad so many of you all had a good time in Louisville and sorry I didn't get to meet any of you. As it seems with most of you, I was hella impressed with Forecastle this year. Any idea on the number of ticket sales this year? It was waaayy less crowded than I expected for that amount of space. I was literally front row for almost half of the sets I wanted to see.
I'm so happy this turned out to be a great fest. It's awesome to have something like this in your hometown. I didn't see a bad show all weekend. Some of the highlights for me were:
-every thing about that MMJ show. They definitely made sure they made it a special show. -Wilco. Going in, all I knew of Wilco was the name. I knew they were a very respected band, but they blew me away. They put on a way better show than anything I was expecting. -Charles Bradley (if you were there, you probably agree) -Flying Lotus. I just can't get enough of this dude.
Yeah I saw those a few threads back, I was wondering if there was more. LLL snapped a couple of me that I'd like to get from her.
Gibran did you go to Dean Wareham? If so I'm 99% I was right behind you. Was going to say hey, but didn't want to embarrass myself if it wasn't actually you.

LLL has some of you on her Facebook. PM her your Facebook.
Bansheebeat: yeah, Gibran was @ Dean's show, wearing his blue Inforoo shirt; he was just a little in front of me & LLL. You were probably only a few feet from us!
I'll check my pics of that show to see if you're in any of 'em.
