[a href="biolite.myshopify.com"]biolite.myshopify.com[/a] Check this out! This is a modified wood gas stove it does not need special fuel. It does not produce empty canisters to fill up landfills. It can charge stuff through what I term thermodynamics. It transforms the heat into electricity! It is only $129. I think this is an awesome start up company. They are goign to help change people in the third world by helping them have electric lights and on demand. Think of this use this to charge your phone camera etc. It is small and portable. Why keep buying those $50 stoves that require canisters that you may or may not be able to find. you can stick twigs charcoal etc even grass to power and even cook with. It is wood gas so there is no smoky fires. I have been following the production of this for about two years. I think it is perfect if you are going too buy camping supplies. I would endorse this as the GO To stove from here on out!

OK, it looks like not a bad camping stove... but, as an electrical power source, not so much. They are saying that only 1-2 watts of electricity is generated; that is half of what a nightlight uses. So kudos for a neat idea and having the thermoelectric coupling powering the fan, but it isn't a solution for electricity in developing worlds. If you want a good stove that doesn't require pre-bottled gas, try this MSR stove; burns white gas, kerosene or gasoline; I've had it for ~12 yrs, love it. Sorry to threadcrap, especially after being away for so long, but the thermodynamics just don't work.
