I'm tired of not being able to call or text except for the wee hours of the morning with sprint. i was thinking of getting a "burner" att prepaid phone next year. what's ATT's service like on the farm? i can have google voice forward my calls to the temp number for free.
It's always been spotty for me, at best. I've gone with several different phones and the past few years with a Blackberry. It worked fine for everything.

We had never had a problem until this past year. Maybe it was just because of our camp location (the new area near the fenced in house) but we had no ability to text, call or use any features with our Sprint phones.

I had AT&T and it was horrible. I think it just depends on the time of day, and where you are located. My friend works for a cell phone company and explained how they put booster towers out there. Long story short, they only have so many connections they can allow at once, in addition to so much data traveling at once.
I also had AT&T and might as well have not even carried a phone. Well, it worked as a clock I guess.
Mine worked as a drink coaster. Why I went with Verizon.
I'm just waiting for my contract to expire now that all the other companies are carrying iPhones. Verizon has unlimited data and text plus the ability to watch ESPN.
thought ATT would be better because i heard they actually put up antennas there.. i guess i was wrong. if Verizon seems to do better i may just force my phone to roam all weekend since sprint roams on big V's network. thanks for the replies
Sprint sucked for me, too. I could only get service to call home and check on my kids early in the morning, like before 10am. I could hardly text at all, and I definitely couldn't make a phone call during the day. If I did get service, chances were whoever I was trying to get a hold of didn't have service at the time. We killed our batteries playing phone tag. I may try the walkie talkie route this year.
