Barney Frank, while I don't agree with all his political moves, is one of my favorite people of all time. I could listen to him debate someone for hours. I'm so glad he's from my state.
Lizzy Warren pretty much is my perfect candidate, btw.
Meh, just hard to get inspired and excited by a lisp. I much rather prefer JFK's swagger.
Sigh, you really are the worst person ever.
Winston Churchill had a lisp. Game. Set. Muthaf*ckin' match.
For not being inspired or motivated by his voice? There are surely many better and more charismatic speakers out there. Obama for one. No need to be a schmuck.

No need to ignore the fact that you're either a hypocritical fear-mongering gay-hating jerkoff, or a complete troll, but you've managed to do that for 3 pages of this thread.

Seriously? Bringing shiz over from a completely separate thread?? Obviously you never read the entire cfa thread. Read it if you want, just start from page 7 if you want to save time. I'm not trying to derail this separate thread about the election. That's all I'll say about that. Back to topic...
fwiw though why would any of that give you reason to be a shmuck? "Worst person ever" because I don't think someone's lispy voice is inspiring?? Why the histrionics and demonization? C'mon...

You actually ignored that question (or references to the question being unanswered) from multiple people, not just myself, all in this thread.
Bc I answered everything in the other thread and well, look at the derailing now. No mas.
Too be clear, leaving the gay thing aside (cause I don't know what everyone is talking about), you're criticizing Barney Frank for having a disability. That's weenie. First you said he has no confidence or charisma, which, no matter your feelings about Barney, is flat wrong. Then you said you don't find him inspiring because he has a lisp. That's shizzy.
Also, I think in November everyone is going look back at today, the day Mitt confidently declared that he always pays at least 13% in taxes, as the day he lost the election.
A disability? I didn't know a lisp was a disability. And yes I don't find him to be a charismatic, inspiring character, not judged by his words or actions, but his voice and therefore charisma. I just don't find his speaking style is charismatic or powerful. Yes, part of that is because of his lisp. I find the most effective speakers and any speaking coach will tell you this, are clear, crisp, loud, and voluminous. I don't find his voice to be. This has little to do with him or his opinions, just as a leader/speaker/charismatic character for a party.
As I said, I will forever be grateful and like him for what he has tried to do for legalizing online poker and I am extremely grateful and proud of him for being the first openly gay member of congress (to my knowledge). Sorry if I worded things poorly, but I think you're reading way too much into what I said.

Your first problem is you associate charisma with the sound of someone's voice. It is a whole lot more than that, and just because you only go skin deep to be inspired doesn't mean everyone else is the same way.
And if you'd like me to explain why Ryan's plan is bad for you or I, I'll do that. Not trying to be a schmuck, trying to show you how easily people's votes can be swayed by falsified or misleading information.

I can't get myself to like Frank. He has some good moments, but then goes and does stuff like waters down his own goddamn bills (Dodd Frank) to help corrupt assholes on Wall St.
I want to believe in Liz Warren, but I dunno.
I knew about Alan Grayson and Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich. But the right has a lot more crazy characters. Democrats tend to be dry.
Though in my case I consider most "liberals" as moderates. There is very little resemblance to a true left wing in America, and we can probably blame that on the John Birch Society and its predecesors. The Republican party closely resembles Italy in the 1930s.
Not much would make me happier than seeing capitalism in its current existence destroyed. Watching the fascist tyrants toppled. To hell with the bourgeoisie.
Watch as world governments become more desperate to cling to power. Russia is facing massive riots, and Putin is desperate to stop it. To the point of throwing dissenters in jail for years. Bahrain is in a civil war like Syria. Unlike Syria, Western leaders like the dictator king in Bahrain. Syrian people rise up, they get slaughtered. Bahrainis rise up, few people even know Bahrain is a country. South Africa saw 34 striking mine workers killed by police, force the rest of the strikers back into submission - cogs in the disgusting exploitative capitalist system.
All around the world, the proletariats are rising up. We are the ones in peace, the enemy holds us down with their wars and their guns. Oakland, NYC, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Chicago, DC, Burlington VT, Houston, and many others... the henchmen of the bourgies are pushing the working man back into submission.
I stared down thousands of NYPD on Mayday. I will again on Sept. 17th. All I want is freedom for the American people, for the citizens of the world. We want peace, I want peace. We refuse to have our rights taken away. We want the right to rule ourselves. The system should not be for the rich and powerful, by the rich and powerful. Everyone should have an opportunity to succeed, not be a wage slave to the "elites" with no hope of a promising future.
I suddenly felt like going into epic speech mode there. Heh.

The US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Americans have no reasonable expectation of privacy when carrying cell phones, allowing police to track GPS signals without a warrant or probable cause.
The Court considers cell phone use to be a public – not private – action, thereby being ineligible for the protections of the Fourth Amendment.

It's just another example of how the Constitution is so difficult to apply at times to modern situations. The idea of cell phones was barely something people dreamed on much less the widespread part of society like it is today.
There's an expectation of privacy as to the content of your conversation. There's no expectation of privacy as to your whereabouts while on public land. The reasoning is that since you are in public and can be observed by anyone, you cannot reasonably expect your location to be a secret.
Ah. There it is. Good explanation.
This still makes me slightly uncomfortable, but it makes more sense.
Interesting that the Supreme Court ruled that GPS on a car was no good. Do you know if the GPS on the vehicles was placed without the driver's knowledge? Because aren't they using GPS to track the cellphone?

In case you hadn't seen, the GOP have distanced themselves from him with amazing speed with Romney already issuing a statement and several party leaders calling for him to resign his nomination for his upcoming Senate race.
The worst part is that at minimum he'll get, what, like 44% of the vote or something? I think I heard Akin had an 11 point lead pretty recently, and as unfortunate as it is, I don't think like 20% of his would be voters will suddenly change their mind.

Oh, I know. Because you can be against abortion in instances of rape, but you can't be so dumb as to think that a woman's body will reject a fetus conceived during a rape like it's a f*cking parasite or something
So, in the GOP you can apparently be against abortion in instances of rape, as long as you don't actually talk about or say something insanely idiotic taken from a pamphlet that some religious fanatic handed you outside an abortion rally.
I also find it hilarious that the GOP clearly despises the Tea Party but caters to it because they need them to win elections.

No what's even worse than that is that there are women who would still vote for this douchebag
Well: the dumber a person is - the more likely they are to vote Republican. The more intelligent and educated, the more likely they are to vote Democrat.
There are exceptions to that rule - but for the most part you see people voting against their own best interests for the sake of secondary things - such as "Christian values". Then ignore the economic disasters which affect them more.

What's even more amazing is the the Faux News morons are even calling him out. When something is even too effed up for them to twist it into a subversive Democratic plot then you know it's bad.
