I had about fifteen people say last year that they were all going to come with us in a great big group. Our great big group wound up being four people. Imagine if our car broke down and we had a Donner dinner party type situation? Four people? We'd have starved after like a week thanks to the carelessness of my bastard friends.

I agree that distance makes it an issue. We've had people who would love to go but adding a day of driving on either end of the fest makes it harder. And yeah, having kids makes planning it harder but it hasn't stopped us yet@
Like last year, if I have a feeling I won't be going, I try to preface every hypothetical conversation with that little bit.
I've never had anyone bail on me, though, luckily... I'm usually the most hounding of any of my friends about getting others on board, and I do it an a way where I usually get a definite answer.
I'm certainly not complaining. Even if they came, I was probably gonna be on my own watching most shows and split off from them.
thats always what i've always done anyways, but we always at least met up for the headliner or one show a day. i dont know how i'd fare if i was REALLY alone though, like nobody to camp with. luckily all of us never have to worry about being at roo alone because everyone here has eachother for support.

This Ish happens to us almost every year. It was fine back when our Roo Crew was small but now that people have "grown up" (whatever that means) it's actually harder to find more than 2 people who wanna go. I might be rolling solo this year and say Eff the fact that being alone at Roo sounds terrifyingly lonely.
