Rules (subject to change):
1. Deadline - You must submit a poster by January 30th. - PM me your festival name and dates if you want to participate. BEFORE January 16th. - A list will be published with participating festivals + dates after Jan. 16th.
2. Lineup - You must book between 50-120 bands. - At least 25 bands must be booked for 1 full day. - Bands must be alive and active. No Beatles or Led Zeppelin. - Comedy, Spoken word, art installations are all allowed. But it must be a music festival.
3. Dates and times - Your festival may take place all year long for 2 to 4 days. - Just like Bonnaroo there can be music at any time of the day. - A band can play for min. 20 minutes and max. 4 hours.
4. Location and capacity - Any place in the world. But realistic, not on top of Empire State Building or something like that. - Your location must be able to hold your chosen capacity.
5. Name - Be creative, think about it and I'm sure you'll find a good name for your festival.
6. Reunions - All reunions have to be PM'd to me for approval. - 1 headliner reunion or 2 non-headliner reunions a festival. - Reunions can only happen if all members are still alive.
Other rules: - If your festival makes it through the first round, you will then be required to submit set times for your festival within a week’s time of your win. Your set times are not bound in any way. You can play all night, like Roo, or you can have a curfew, like Lolla.
- Also if you make it past the first round, no additions can be made to the poster. Your poster as you submitted to me as the final draft by 11:59pm 1/30/2011.
Questions? PM me.
Poster makers should remain, and will remain anonymous.

So do you vote more on the quality of the poster or the bands on the poster? Or is it a combo? Just name and dates are due on the 16th, and bands/poster on the 30th?

What about Superjams? Does that fall under reunion or what?
Superjams also have to go by me for approval. PM.
What about limits? Obviously more than 1 doesn't make a lot of sense, but does it take up a reunion spot? And also what about sit-ins advertised on the poster (specifically I was thinking something like SBTRKT live with Little Dragon and a few others)

Hmm good point. Do you think we should let them choose between a reunion or a superjam?
About sit-ins, I prefer them not mentioned on the poster. But you can let people think there will be one. Like book 2 bands who performed songs together in the past and let them play on the same day. People will automatically think they will perform together. Bonnaroo never mentions sit-ins in advance.
Curated stages are also allowed, but have to be approved.

What about themed stages that aren't curated? I have a specific one in mind (and have for a while). Can I color those bands specifically on the poster to indicate that they are performing on the same stage on the same day? I'll make a footnote of that on the poster.

(Sorry to ask so many questions)
Can you put this in a PM with the bands in your mind? I think it's okay to mention something like a themed tent on the poster. But I'm not completely sure what you mean exactly.
