I just found out about this, and plan to go. Has anyone else ever been? How is it?
Matt, just ask Mayo...she lives pretty close to there & goes - or at least went last year. The pics she posted online convinced me that I wanna go this year!
Last year they expanded the viewing areas, concessions, and port-o-lets and it made a huge difference. It's almost a real festival now. In prior years it was only fun from noon until 5 and then it just got too crowded. Now, it's great all night. Hippie'ish crowd, pretty laid back event.
For anyone who will be in the ATL that weekend, and not at this "other thing" that may or may not be going on in another city - this is a good free fest.
And the King of Pops will surely be there. so that's a plus. kingofpops.net/

I'll be going. Can't beat the line-up they have for free. And for those going, DO NOT miss Cadillac Jones. They will blow you away. They hardly play shows at all, which is a bummer, but when they do its a real treat.
I actually won VIP passes to this and a hotel for the weekend. It was short notice so doesn't look like anyone can go with me so if anyone is interested in a VIP pass let me know there is a good chance I'll have an extra wrist band.

Ok, got final message about the prize that I won and it doesn't include two vip wristbands but four so its looking like I might have two extra instead of one if anyone would like the other wristband let me know, would hate to let them go to waste.
Festival was so, so good. Thank you Eric so much for the extra VIP ticket, it made the festival for me. Hope ya had a good time.
I went Friday and Saturday and with my VIP ticket I spent 20 bucks on everything I needed. It was such a deal considering I saw about 8-9 bands in two days. P-Groove and Maceo Parker were so damn good, and so was everyone else on Friday and Saturday. I hope this awesome festival continues to run strong.
