Another way to interpret the Titans is the New York Titans, the name the Jets went by for their first 3 seasons. The only food related name I saw on the rosters those years was Jim Apple. Not seeing any apple varieties that make me think of any bands though.

While I don't think RHCP is the answer don't assume that just because a band is not the answer for a certain clue that they won't be there or for that matter the answer to a different clue.
