I agree Battles and The Pixies still seem like the best ideas thusfar, I was looking at famous Cal State, Fullerton (Titans) alums and found Gwen Stefani. If anyone can logically link No Doubt to "what's your favorite flavor?" maybe we're there? Maybe I'm crazy?
I agree, except for Gary's tweet about Battles. I'd throw Tobacco and Cream on that list, too.
Not gonna scroll through ten pages and see if this has been suggested but what if it's referring to the many classic artists and celebrities that have been on Ben and Jerry's flavors (Jerry, Lennon, Colbert, etc...) Just saying Phish is among those "Titans."

It has been. A lot, actually. Colbert was mentioned as a possibility for it, too.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
New idea: if someone starts their post with, "Well, I didn't read every page, but,..." then proboards should auto-delete it?
It takes 5 seconds to skip over a post but much much longer to read through the entire thread, especially when they get to be multiple pages. Don't penalize someone who is trying to help just because they can't be on here every second of the day...

I think the fact that Titans is capitalized it pretty important -- in the previous clue, the syntax seemed to be the key to the solution, and not so much this inherent meaning.
Titans as a proper noun only implies the football team to me. Can anyone think of anything else? Especially in reference to "check yo self before you wreck yo self"

Apparently in the early 80s there was a canadian tv series called the titans where they did fake interviews with historical figures...
Following are some of the historical persons featured in the series, with the actors who portrayed them:[1][2]
Napoleon - David Calderisi Nefertiti - Marilyn Lightstone Galileo - Chris Wiggins Queen Elizabeth I - Frances Hyland Stephen Leacock - W. O. Mitchell Nostradamus - Len Birman Confucius - John Neville Albert Einstein - John Marley Billy Bishop - Cedric Smith Alexander Graham Bell - Patrick Watson
Not that there's any connection to a band or flavor that i can see, but maybe someone can do something with it.
Upcoming shows: Ryan Adams 1-25-12 Red Wanting Blue 1-28-12 The Black Keys w/ The Arctic Monkeys 3-??-12

At least on Wikipedia, the Greek Titans are always referred to in capitalized form... so they're not just the titans, they're the Titans. I think it's either Greek proto-gods or Tennessee football players.

k everyones concentrating on the titans part what about the flavor part? the first part that came to my mind was ben and jerrys flavors which include a dave matthews flavor and a phish flavor. i dont think it could allude to furthur or any members of the dead cause cherry garcia is about jeff garcia not the dead

titan is also an adjective implying "larger than life" or formidable, but being specifically capitalized rules that out. So it seemingly must do with Titans the gods (which seems too obvious for a 'roo clue -- hardly is anything ever as it seems... haha). Who were the team members of the Titans in Remember the Titans? Maybe their roster is what we're looking for, perhaps...

Tennessee Titans have a offensive line coach named Bruce Matthews.
That's bruce matthews. He played for like 20 years in the nfl. His brother Clay played for the Browns back in the day, and now Clay's kid Clay plays for the Packers and his other kid casey plays for the eagles.
Am i the only sports fan here?
