That's bruce matthews. He played for like 20 years in the nfl. His brother Clay played for the Browns back in the day, and now Clay's kid Clay plays for the Packers and his other kid casey plays for the eagles.

I think the capitalization of Titans is important. The only proper noun I could think of was for the football team…. Which made me think of the ‘Remember the Titans’ movie. The score of that movie was by Trevor Rabin, a founding member of Yes. He is no longer a member of Yes but his son is in the band Grouplove. The statement ‘Whats your favorite flavor’ could be a slight alteration to asking the GROUP what flavor they LOVE. A wild guess but I figured it was worth a shot and GROUPLOVE seems to be getting a good amount of airtime on XM lately.
EDIT: The latest GROUPLOVE single is called tongue tied which kind of fits into the favorite flavors question?
titan is also an adjective implying "larger than life" or formidable, but being specifically capitalized rules that out. So it seemingly must do with Titans the gods (which seems too obvious for a 'roo clue -- hardly is anything ever as it seems... haha). Who were the team members of the Titans in Remember the Titans? Maybe their roster is what we're looking for, perhaps...
It's a good guess, but I don't think it the right one. They said that they weren't touring in 2012. They were on tour for the last 2 years.
Still, I think this is the best guess out of everyone else...I'm not looking up every Pringle or Ben & Jerry's flavor, or trying to fit Prince into the clue box.
Also, as a suggestion, I doubt the clue has anything to do with the NFL again...doesn't seem like they would make the follow up clue relative to football if they were so adamant about last clue not having anything to do with football. Yeah, it seems fitting that the Titans are the Tennessee NFL team, and Bonnaroo is in Tennessee...but I think that's a pretty dead end.

Yeah sorry to get off-track but another fun fact about that is that all of Clay (LB)'s kids play defense, and all of Bruce (OL)'s kids are on the offensive side of the ball. Fun stuff. Now, back to clues

Dang. A name among "the Titans" -- it couldn't be a scramble could it? Santi Gold... ?
In reference to the Beastie Boys mention earlier, Santigold has been opening for them -- (check yo self being the tying factor) -- and a name among "the titans" -- scrambled around you can get "Santi" from this, as in Santi White of Santigold.
Flavor I can't seem to do anything with yet... hurm. Maybe dropped references to her "Island Flavor"?

I feel like this thread has gotten pretty far off of the right track. I really think we're not just barking up the wrong tree, but maybe in the wrong forest.
I really think Titans is there to make us think it's a band WAY higher on the lineup than GC is allowed to give clues to. Every year people get all excited about the clues being for a Sat. Night Headliner and it ends up being quacking Uncle Slams Love Tractor. It is highly unlikely that clue#2 is going to be anyone that will play a Main Stage. Especially unopposed.

Also, he said that this year the clues would be about bigger bands. With the Coachella lineup dropping yesterday, I could see this one being about a bigger band.

I'm pretty sure they announced Metallica, Jay-Z and Stevie Wonder via clues. Maybe Pearl Jam, also (can't remember).
