thats the only reason i guessed styx. it fit when i googled greek titans and then instantly i thought of pixie stix and their flavors. i dont even really like styx say for mr roboto. i think most people on here are making guesses with prejudice toward who they want it to be.
I will stick with Battles until they are officially ruled out or something equally as fitting comes up.
To reiterate everything gathered for Battles: Name amongst the Titans: "Atlas" first single by Battles favorite flavor: "Ice Cream" most popular song on their latest album. Gloss Drop vinyl was released in 3 different flavors of ice cream.
If it wasn't Battles gary would have given a more concrete answer. Like "no." He didn't say "no" to Battles like he said no to RHCP, The Black Keys, Mike Patton, Etc.

@juggs Could you find a more comprehensive list of pringles and post? I noticed at least a couple were missing... because I love me some guacamole pringles and those weren't on there.

not necessarily. it's not like there's any rules to bonnaroo clues.

Also, I'm inclined to think we were on the right track with the Battles/ice cream logic - obviously that wasn't it, but that TYPE of logic sounds right to me for the second half. Like, the band/artist in question has a song/album/some other connection to something that comes in flavors. If that makes any sense.
eta: I like how I just said "we" were on the right track despite the fact that I just got here. Oops. ;D
I am still sticking with the Pixies unless he ruled it out already.
From wikipedia
Styx was also the name of the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. She was wife to Pallas and bore him Zelus, Nike, Kratos and Bia (and sometimes Eos). Styx supported Zeus in the Titanomachy where she was the first to rush to his aid. For this reason her name was given the honor of being a binding oath for the gods.
Styx was a goddess not just a river, and also one of the greek titans. Pixie Stix seems like a pretty good pun, and the kind they like to make. Especially since a package of the candy comes in multiple flavors.
i think battles are the only one eliminated at this point. i like the logic to the rolling stones guess but you gotta think they're just too big to be a clue. if they were playing, why wouldn't they leave them as a surprise?

Okay what about this: what if we think of "flavor of the week"? And we think of someone who has married/dated a lot of people (perhaps someone with a name similar to one of the Titans/Tennessee Titans)? Which of those theoretical people that this Hefner dated has a name similar to a band name? I'm at work so I can do very limited actual research.

Titus Andronicus is the named of a famed Roman General in the original play, puttong him amongst the titans. or did the romans do away with the titan mythology when they took over Greece

I'm staying on my Santigold train -- she's touring with RHCP -- I'd say chili pepper's are pretty flavorful but I don't know if that would be referencing RHCP or Santigold. bwahaha. However, I think we discussed RHCP -- possibilities?
The Titan 34D is among the Titan family of rockets. 34D has obvious allusions. Favorite flavor could be "Mother's Milk?" RHCP.

i think that the titans might mean someone who started out playing with a much bigger artist or got there big break touring with some huge artist. maybe even someone who was very young and close to some giant artists. being among titans but not an actual titan can someone come up with something based on this

A name amongst the titans, if it is a football referencce, doesn't necessarily need to be the name of a player. Its the tennesee titans, so couldn't a name amongst the titans be the name of a city or something in tennesee?
And can someone please tell me how to spell tennnnesssssee? 2 s's? 2 n's? Geography is hard.

Because of his name, people often think Weird Al is related to America's king of polka Frankie Yankovic. And he's known for doing a lot of songs about food.
