I'm staying on my Santigold train -- she's touring with RHCP -- I'd say chili pepper's are pretty flavorful but I don't know if that would be referencing RHCP or Santigold. bwahaha. However, I think we discussed RHCP -- possibilities?
This thread is literally hysterical. Ever since we've strayed off Battles NOT ONE guess has any foundation to it. I'm starting to believei it's NOT Battles, but I also believe no one here has gotten it right. Keep it up, gang.

Gary liked a post on here that discredited the RHCP answer. I'd say they're not the right answer.

I think the Pixies and Rolling Stones make a lot of sense.
Titans are mythological gods, pixies are mythological creatures. Therefore, a pixie is a name amongst titans. And then you have Pixie Stix for the flavor part.
And for the Rolling Stones, they could be considered titans in rock 'n roll, and then there's the "favorite flavor" line from the song.

I like how bands have repeated for both clues, Mike Patton/Faith No More, Marilyn Manson, RHCP. I have a feeling it is either Battles or we are way out in the weeds on this.

The Titans have a defensive lineman named Karl Klug... which kind of sounds like Krug... so... Spencer Krug! And... uh... My favorite flavor of events that take up space on streets is parades! Sooo... Wolf Parade!

wouldn't it be silly if it WERE a previous guess? And then we never guessed it because someone guessed it in reference to something else. Dang, silliness.
But really, wrong answers are almost as important as right ones -- if you can rule something out, or logically dismiss a guess, then there's one less factor to determine. Hypothesis testing rarely involves the correct answer
Then we're way out in the weeds. It's not Battles.
I still think Gary's response about Battles is up for debate. He may have been totally referring to the tweet talking smack about his clue writing especially after last week.

I meant that I think it's funny that the same bands have come up twice despite the clues being very different. I'm not talking smack about the people guessing.

Haha, oops. Sorry. But that's sort of an interesting point. I imagine the relative broadness of the careers of these people could make it possible to apply any of these clues to them...
Also, I've been auto-correcting in my head -- he says "amongst". Amongst is a very old school way of saying "among" and isn't really used anymore... could this be implying an older band, perhaps? Or a time reference entirely? IE: If it were addressing the Titan demigods, amongst would be a cute little way to imply that the term were indeed referencing historical material.

I think it also carries a little bit from the individual making the guess. I was one of the people that brought up Faith No More for the first clue, and it was largely because I could make it fit and I really want to see Faith No More. You don't see many people chasing down wikipedia and google articles to prove the clue is Skrillex... except Flanzo. He loves Skrillex.
To be fair, it has only been a half of a day... I remember the agony of clue solving in past years. It took FOREVER.
That's why I quit around clue 4 or 5 last year. It wasn't any fun anymore. And I promised myself that I wouldn't do it this year. But I was encouraged by the first one... silly me
