Fish of harmony is a common symbol cultures. The majority point towards Buddhism, it's usualy a symbol of 2 fish mirroring each other in some sort of pose.

We used to catch herring by the bucket load when they were running in the Potomac. Used to shovel some under the rose bushes for fertilizer. Herring are a schooling fish. Jim Herring is a schooled guitarist. Widespread Panic has a recent album, "Dirty Side Down." Roots are the dirty side down of a tree. But, I can't make olive fit, unless Jimmy Herring has an olive wood guitar?

I was looking at Keller too, he attended Virginia Wesleyan College whose mascot is the marlin and it is a United Methodist college. This would fit the former fish and "United" could be the harmony part.
Not really sure about the second part of the clue.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I don't really know where to go with this but "former fish of harmony" makes me immediately think of the Fishtones from Eureeka's Castle. Is there someone connected to that show who is in a musical group now?
Going with the word 'bass' for fish, as said before, but pronounced differently, added with nectar, bassnectar? Also, going with the idea of a member being part of a bigger group before, Justin Timberlake? Olive tree, timber, idk. Maybe you guys can take these ideas and make better connections. I'm just throwing ideas around.
To me, the way this is worded points towards a current band that a member joined after leaving another. That wouldn't really fit the chili peppers.
from that angle could it be Jack White band moving from his previous schools of fish to one his name is the root of (more directly than the White Stripes)
