I know it's early to speculate, but let the guessing begin. I really would like to see the fest get as big as it used to be. Last year was a real let down for me, but I have hope. Anyone think we will get a bigger & better one this year?!

its way early yet. I think it got announced late spring last year if I remember correctly? Had to miss last year because of work, but that won't be the case this year.

I really liked last year's fest. I thought it was casual, well-run, and had a solid lineup. I would rather it stay as a one-day festival if it means that it's as good as the last one.
I think last year the announcement was def in late spring - I had tix to see Elvis Costello that night, but ditched out to make it to Midtown. I thought that for a one-dayer it was well organized, plenty of food, trash cans, portos, and booze. I'll def go again this year. I think there was a really well done interview with Peter Conlon back then too; he has been in the top 10 of my "hate list" since the fest was cancelled after 2005, but after reading that interview I felt like I could forgive... clatl.com/atlanta/peter-conlon-readies-the-return-of-music-midtown/Content?oid=3538386

The announcement was in July. Check the date on that Creative Loafing article above. They did this thing with very short notice, apparently they didn't even decide to pull the trigger until spring.
I was pretty disappointed by the lineup last year. Hope they improve going forward.

Music Midtown was tons of fun last year. I'm pretty sure kyejwe is right. they announced it in July.
I had a blast going in the early to mid 2000s, so I was elated they brought it back. I've got my fingers crossed for multiple days like it used to be. Pipe dream, I know.
In somewhat related news, I'm not sure if they'll approve the venue being at Pied. Park again, though. I went jogging around the park the other night and the grass is STILL dead from the massive traffic around the park that day
Oh, Atlanta will approve. They need cash. If they get double cash for double size, they'll approve. If they get quadruple cash for double size and double night, they'll approve. Add in kickbacks and then expansion is a done deal.
