It is insane. Anyone else seen it on VOD? It is going to piss off a lot of fans, but I really think it's pretty close to genius. They took part of "The Room," threw in some Frank Zappa, and then took a massive dump on the ehole thing.

I haven't seen it yet so try not to spoil, but .. It seems like you're implying that these pre-theater release versions are trolls that aren't the real thing. Am I on the right track?
Also I heard an interview where they said that at the end of the Sundance screening half of the crowd had walked out, and when they asked, they found out that the majority of the people who stayed had never seen the show before.
Well being a big fan of theirs this makes me feel like I'll probably hate it. But, I love them enough that I'll go buy a movie ticket when it comes out, whether I see it or not.
My friend ordered it off of On Demand the other day... just be prepared. It's a Funny Or Die production, no ties to Adult Swim that I can tell, so the content is far more barf worthy.
If you're a fan, you'll probably really enjoy it (in the same way that a 15 minute episode isn't completely filled with lol moments, but more randomized bits of hilarity) ... an hour and a half of a movie with a PLOT might have been a tad too much for them, as the finale tends to drag. That's really my only complaint, is that it's too long. (said friend was actually disappointed to learn it was only an hour and a half... he loved it, suffice to say)
Zach Galifianakis' role isn't as key as I'd hoped, John C. Reilly is good as always, but the man who provides the real show stealing moments is Ray Wise (Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks)... just, wow.
I'd not watch it with anyone who's unfamiliar with their style of minimalist absurd comedy. As far as a rating goes (if you read the General Film Discussion thread, you know I like to grade), this is a tough one... I'm going to be modest here and go with **2/3 out of 5... think of the Kids In The Hall Movie, but with this type of comedy. I think the restriction of censors on the show made for it to be more creative without going blatantly vulgar... that principal is thrown out the window, here.
