Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I attended my first Bonnaroo last year and was immediately hooked by the entire environment. Unfortunately, my team from last year all have prior engagemetns and will not be able to go.
With that said, is it feasible/safe to Bonnaroo solo? I am well prepared for all the of outside factors (camping, water, drucks, etc.) but wanted to get anyone else's opinion/experience. Any help would be great!
On a side note, any one from Los Angeles area want to go to Bonnaroo with me? I'm really nice.
Isn't that what this place is about? Asking and answering questions? Did not realize I was breaching etiquette.
Meh, don't worry about it. Every year I've gone I've met solo Roo goers. And every year I end up hanging out with a solo Roo goer a bunch. It's just the mentality the majority of people go there with that allows solo people to latch on to a group and make some friends to party with.
Just don't be a creeper. Had to give a solo person the boot one year for creepin' on my friend. No bueno.
It's cool, man. The more you read, the less duplicate questions you'll have to ask. It's obviously a feasible endeavor to Roo it alone. I was directing you towards that group because there's a bunch of solo-goers joining us in one Tentcity. You might also look for carpools from Cali in the rides threads which will be popping up like crazy in the next few months.
I been solo two years now. Its alright, you can do whatever whenever. Just make friends with your neighbors.
THIS! Also, we made friends with a chick from Vermont that came solo last year, she came to our site for shade and to hang out everyday. A bunch of us also meet in Tent Only for Camp Inforoo, you could join that and do what you want when you want and still have campmates to look after your stuff and hang out with when you go back to camp. You'll be fine!

There are so many of us that are going, you will meet plenty of cool people. My hubby on here Maynardave (or Dave or Chris) went alone 2 years and had a great time.
I go solo every year, and usually meet people on the shuttle from the airport. I love showing first timers around the campgrounds and Centeroo. The only times I feel kind of lonely are in the mornings and Sunday afternoons. Otherwise, I highly recommend going solo.
My crew from last year can't go this year, but it's not stopping me. If I can't recruit some others to go, I'm driving down solo, and probably going to ask to join the Inforoo camp.
Driving down solo also means I can put more gear and food/water in my car if needed.
I like going with camp inforoo, it has most of the solo benefits, along with the the group shade areas, and the constant party you get with a big group.

I'm in LA and am also seriously considering going for the 1st time this year. I'm originally from KC and am trying to recruit friends from there to make the drive and meet me in Nashville but if no one wants to commit I don't have an issue going alone.
I can never do Bonnaroo completely solo because I live so close to it. Last year though none of my close friends went with me. I rode in with about 20 people from work and we got in when the sun was rising. I immediately gave them the deuces and proceeded to tent only. I met up with friends that were working the adult swim tent. I did Bonnaroo on my own terms last year because of that though. The people I was camping with worked the whole festival and only saw them if I ran into them at late nights. My car was with the people I worked with so I would see them once a day to resupply. Last year was the best Bonnaroo for me though because I did what I wanted to do when I decided it was time to do it. More power to you doing it by yourself. Wish I could. I just can't though because I always have 8 different camps I can wonder in to if I get bored. All I can say is doing Bonnaroo kinda/semi on my own last year was the best year for me. I saw so many more shows than in previous years and was up front more as well. In my opinion you should do it. If you need someone to hang with PM me. We'll have a sick set up this year because because all of my bros are coming this time. 25 and looking to party.

I'm planning on driving down solo myself this year---gonna buy my ticket tomrrow, & if nobody else can go, I'm going solo. It'll be my 1st one, but I know tons of folks that have gone - - it's gonna be a blast.
Not sure how I missed this thread before but glad I was directed to it.
This is my first roo and I'm coming from NYC solo. I haven't decided whether I'm car camping or TO (any input on one vs the other is appreciated!). Either way, I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys over the next couple months and hopefully meeting up with some of you there.

Last two years I convinced a bunch of friends to go, this year no one else can make it, and I am STOKED! My advice to you is make friends with everyone! And drink lots of water..

TO is the way to go. The efforts invested in hauling yr gear down when you arrive will pay off the rest of the weekend in convenience to Centeroo. Read the Camp Inforoo thread for more info & come to the Annual Brunch/group orgy.

Hi, this is my first 'roo and I was wondering how safe it is? I'll be just graduating, and would be going alone so I was wondering as a girl if it would be safe.

Very safe! I've never felt uneasy at bonnaroo.
You can always join us at camp inforoo if you'd like some friendly people to camp with.

It's as safe as you are. Not trying to be vague, but I think that's the plain truth. What I'm saying is that it's as safe as most anywhere else, but you do need to keep your wits about you as a solo young woman. Just keep your head and it will be all good. If you plan to totally lose it some night find a wing (wo)man you can trust. I have seen girls get harrassed at Roo by frat boy types but generally speaking there was some 'judgement' issues occuring on both sides of the ball that contributed and both times I witnessed such an occurence it was a cute young girl zig-zagging her way through the campsites looking for her friends late night. Pretty much the same rules apply as would anywhere else... it's no safer, but certainly not any more dangerous.

I will probably have to go alone this year as well... Actually looking forward to be able to do whatever I want without worrying about finding some one later or whatever... I figure I'll meet the neighbors... Thinking of bringing a giant canvas for everyone to paint... Anyhow, If you see some one walking alone, say hello!
