i dont know about the clue but I remember gary saying bigger artists this year. We havent solved any big artist clues thus far but I would imagine garys saving the best for last. I would also guess that this is one of if not the last clue we are getting so thing big.

The more literal translation of shrine is a box or a case, and holy things tended to be put in those shrines. Given the first half of the clue seems to be about conveying messages (frost, flood) maybe we should be thinking more about the case aspect of a shrine rather than a temple.

We're close enough to the lineup now that I wouldn't be surprised if the clues got easier and/or for bigger acts. So I agree with those who said we can probably just distill "clandestine aceretum" to "secret garden" - or hidden garden or something similar.
Similarly, I would think we could replace "Noah's vessel" with ark - and I would expect that bit to be some sort of wordplay for some other sort of ark/arc rather than just a literal reference to Noah's dove.
Although one other thing that did occur to me is that the song "Noah's Dove" by 10,000 Maniacs references "a colder season" and "forgotten trees" - but idk, the Maniacs are not really who I would expect to be part of a clue and I don't know that we've ever had a clue that used song lyrics from another artist, even though we've considered it before. Plus I don't know what artist "Noah's Dove" would be leading us to anyway.
Around clue #7 I called it quits since we are so close to the lineup but I'm a little under the weather and spending the night in, so in that case I'm making a run at this clue. Don't mind me if i think out loud a little bit too much.
A dove foreshadowed coming frost and Noah's vessel; A shrine amid a clandestine aceretum.
Jeff Bridges played a character named Dove in Blown Away and a character named Noah in Tideland Also here up north bridges get signs warning of frost heaves.
If you take a clandestine aceretum as a secret garden. Secret Garden was written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. A shrine could be a cross or a T
Jeff had an album come out last summer, produced by T-Bone and they worked together on Crazy Heart.

That's actually pretty decent. The Jeff Bridges connection is a bit more of a stretch I guess, although even there I don't immediately see any real issues with it. But I like the T-Bone Burnett thinking.
I'll admit I stretched the Jeff Bridges ha, but i got the T-bone part immediately and the frost coming made me think of bridges, and I knew they have worked together.
