Yup. They made them way too hard this year and not nearly enough help from Gary. Everyone is content to just wait for the lineup next week at this point.

I gave up on the clues a long time ago, but I am shocked no one has mentioned Prince on this clue due to the "Dove" part. I absolutely don't think the answer is Prince, but surprised he hasn't been guessed.

I think mc has the right idea there.
So, in the bible, didn't a dove bring Noah an olive branch after he had been out at sea in his ark for a long time, signifying that he had found land? So, that's one half of it... but the dove also signified a coming frost? Anyone know what cultural reference that might be?
And can anyone make heads or tails of the "shrine amid a secret garden"?
This feels like a REALLY literary clue to me, so I'm going to be reading the wiki for The Secret Garden, refreshing my brain on that biblical story, and looking up that dove frost thing. COME ON GUYS I'M AT WORK AND BORED, SOLVE CLUES WITH ME.

My guess on the frost dove is mourning dove or turtle dove.
Noah could either be a Raven or a Dove (dove is more common, but I don't know what we're supposed to get from the clue then)
First the raven "which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth."
"And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth." (Genesis 8:6-7 KJV)
The dove was different; the dove was interested in finding things that didn't much interest the "unclean" raven (ravens have their God-designed purpose in nature, as removers of carrion, so ravens are "good" for something - as with all other "unclean" creatures, they just aren't to be eaten; see the Fact Finder question below).
"Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more." (Genesis 8:8-12 KJV)
Neko Case. There's the maple tree reference (aceretum)in the clue, and Neko spent some time in Canada (maple leaf flag). Nikko, Japan is known for the beautiful maple foliage in fall, and is home to many shrines and temples. Neko also has an album titled, "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood;" the Noah reference?

"The Native American (Pueblo, specifically) believed that the cooing of the Dove could coax the rain from the skies. In fact, they believed the appearance of the Dove was a sign of rain to come. Or, if during a dry spell, the Pueblo believed the Dove would lead them to water."
So... doves can definitely foreshadow things in traditional symbolism, I dunno how helpful that is.

I like the Neko Case guess, and I like the Maple Tree Garden = Canada connection. I'm not sure what's clandestine about it though. Maybe it fits cause she's an American member of a Canadian band (clandestine Canadian).

Pulling on the non-Canadian musicians with Canada ties (not sure if this is the right track but it's something). I went through the members of Broken Social Scene to see who wasn't Canadian.
Emily Haines was born in New Delhi and raised in Canada. James Shaw (also in Metric) was born in London and raised in Canada. Torquil Campbell of Stars - born in England
AND my favorite link
John McEntire of Tortoise (turtle doves) and The Sea and Cake (Noah)
-This clue starts off by 2 different hints about doves(even though we can't seem to figure out the frost part).
-"Two Doves" is one of the most popular songs by The Dirty Projectors.
-"A shrine amid a clandestine aceretum". One of the earliest recorded places to have had Maple Trees was iceland. Bjork is from Iceland (Bjork means Birch tree). Bjork and The Dirty Projectors did an album together called Mount Wittenberg Orca.
Mount Wittenberg is a mountain in northern California the is famous for it's large leafed maple trees. In fact, the cover art is a picture from the top of the mountain looking out to the ocean. Maple trees are all over the cover.
So this could either point to The Dirty Projectors(new album due out in spring), Bjork, or both performing together...
Other than that-Armin Van Buuren, one of the biggest electronic producers in the world, was born only 28 minutes from Esveld Aceretum. Esveld Aceretum is the largest collection of maple trees in the world. It's in Boskoop, Netherlands.
