i am SOOOO excited for their set. has anyone seen them live? good feedback? i was going to drive to Cleveland to see them a couple years ago but it didn't work out.
I really wanted to see Sleigh Bells come back after murdering their set last year... but at least I got to see them this past Friday (damn near blew an eardrum, too!). Joy Formidable would make a lot of sense in the Sleigh Bells slot but so could Two Door Cinema Club... or a number of other artists, to be honest.

Yeah I have seen them once. I thought they were great. I will be seeing them again before roo rolls around. I can't wait.

Yep. I was kinda hoping they'd get something like the Band of Skulls slot from last year. Festivals typically start off well for me with lots of distortion. Band of Skulls brought it last year and these guys will most definitely do the same this year. Can't wait!
I just saw these guys for the second time on Saturday here in Atlanta at the Masquerade. Holy cow. AH.mazing. Just. SO GOOD.
I saw them last summer, of course, at Music Midtown and was sincerely impressed. But honestly, I wasn't expecting the turnout that appeared on Saturday. It was well deserved, however. They are going to kick ass and take names at Bonnaroo. I promise.
Homegirl MAY be 5 feet tall and weigh in at a whopping 95 pounds, but she owns that stage when she performs.
Saw them live last night in DC. Totally rocked the crap out of the place. Must be a night show on the farm, as their lights and effects are killer with the ear-blasting jam sessions. They are as hard of rock as I will take. Any more, and I'm not into it. That being said, they toed the line perfectly and had the place head-bobbing like nuts.

I saw them last week and A Place to Bury Strangers opened for them. Both bands were amazing! I never felt the entire bar (The Bluebird in Bloomington IN) vibrate like that. I thought "well if I see them now that should resolve a conflict at 'roo" but unfortunately that is not the case. Will definitely check them out again no matter who else is up against them. A must see if you like shoe-gazey, wall-of-noise type music.
Saw them them last Friday in Cincy (I think it was the night after you, bigbuddha). I thought A Place to Bury Strangers stole the show, but that's no knock on The Joy Formidable--they put on an excellent set, I was thoroughly impressed. New album is complete, and while they only played one song from it they'll probably roll more out by the time summer dates come along. I'll definitely be at their set, conflicts or no.
