Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Anyone have a clue as to what this is about? It is found on the "Tickets" info page on the Bonnaroo website. Any info you have or know on it would be much help.
It's a meal upgrade that is both tasty and overpriced. I did it last year and did NOT get my money's worth! (And I'm a foodie!)
Here's the deal: you get a laminated badge on a lanyard that gives you entrance into the VIP catering area. An attendant punches the badge for each meal. You get 2 meals a day, and the offerings are outstanding! One night it was the tenderest, juiciest prime rib I've ever had; another day it was a smoked salmon that gave me O face. Every meal is served with several fresh vegetables, so even vegetarians can eat their fill.
All meals feature a salad bar (with several dozen items, not just lettuce, cheese & cherry tomatoes!) plus at least 15 different kinds of dressing. The dessert bar has no less than 5 different kinds of cakes and pies, PLUS cookies, brownies, fresh fruit, and more.
This isn't cheesy wedding reception catering; it's very good quality food served by extremely attentive staff who keep your drinks refilled faster than any restaurant. They're nice and actually WAIT on you. All you do is serve it to your plate from the buffet.
The problem: it's so damn hot in June that you usually don't want to eat a full, hot meal. And if you don't eat during the set times when meals are served, you lose out. For that reason, I only ate 3 of the 6 meals. So I basically paid more than $200 for 1 lunch and 2 dinners. (Total waste of money.)
But...if you think you'd enjoy six meals of great food in an air-conditioned tent, and you know you'll be hungry enough to enjoy it, then go for it. You will be stuffed! Just know that they don't let you take out leftovers. And while they are nice enough to fill your Camelbak entirely with ice (the tiny pellet-sized kind, not the big chunks) - which is an amazing, refreshing treat in the afternoon! - they won't let you stop in just for ice anytime you want. It has to be while you're there for a meal.
The other drawback: if you stuff yourself on surf & turf, you won't be hungry for the delicious offerings in Centeroo. Last year's food trucks were A.MA.ZING! You'll end up buying food from there anyway since the VIP Food Tent will be closed when you're stumbling back to camp after a headliner show. You might as well save money & dine on Spicy Pie and Pesto Mozzadillas. It's definitely cheaper!

Hope this is helpful!
After reading this description I can say 100% without doubt that this is done by the same people that cater for Roll Like a Rockstar, and I was told by those folks they also do the artist catering. So with that... you could say if you bought this food upgrade you would be eating like the artists.
The food was pretty outstanding last year. Dont think its worth it for just people going VIP though. Not really cost effective. Now if your going Roll Like a Rockstar then its a different animal.
Personally I think for the money you can find other food options throughout the the grounds. Like the above poster said when the heat is turned up my appetite goes down. Not to mention a trip or two to the brewers tent will give you enough calories.
I have posted in the past, even though we have a RV and love to cook we partake in the food options that are for sale. For one reason is time, who wants to walk back to camp and miss the activities that are going on during the day and night. We make breakfast (although it's closer to lunch) and that will keep us satisfied until late afternoon / early evening.
Good luck with your decisions. And remember that if you go VIP there is a "Free" dinner (and drink) that is served on Thursday evening so that will take care of one night. Three to go !
