Thank you to everyone who helped me get through my first Roo last year, more specifically my first night of Roo. I went a little overboard and was walking around Camp Pusy Galore like a disoriented vagabond until I was taken in by some awesome people from Pittsburgh, thanks again.
I'm sure I walked through countless campsites and I am very sorry if I disturbed anyone while doing so. I don't think I messed anything up but I felt horrible about it afterwards.
I had a great time despite the fact that the person that I went with stayed in the car almost the entire time. I also apologize on his behalf for trashing our campsite and not cleaning it up. I did my share of cleaning and could only do so much with the bags we brought.
I also apologize on his behalf for lying and saying his house was on fire in order for people to move out of our lane so we can get out early. It's really sad that he did that and the utmost karma goes to the people that actually cared and were so extremely empathetic and concerned about his BS situation.
He even lied to me and said the person whose car he borrowed to get there was making him come home. In reality his feet hurt because all he brought was boots and he displayed more selfishness in that weekend than I have seen in my entire life. He made me leave on Sunday morning before I got to see 2 bands I really wanted to see, The Strokes and Explosions in the Sky. I forgave him but I am not letting him come with me this year as he doesn't deserve to. He wouldn't even walk to shakedown with me (BOO!)
Also, did anyone else fall victim to this gambling scheme with this guy involving cups and a ball? He stole $50 dollars off me and really screwed my stuff up.
But despite all of this I had such a great time and look forward to coming with new people this year. My little rant about ROO 2011 is just to show everyone that you can have a great time no matter how bad things are going.
Why did he stay in the car almost the entire time? Who goes to Bonnaroo and does that?
I've seen it happen. I'm a local and people who have camped with us (also locals) can't handle the heat and sit in there all day for AC. I prep myself for months canoeing, hiking, and such in the misery of the humidity.

Well his main reason for going was because he wanted to see Eminem, who he missed anyways. His second reason for going was to see Lil Wayne who I wish I missed. And his third reason was for bad words which were brought home and inflated. He had no motivation to see anyone else because the day-heat took everything out of him. He ended up coming to see Arcade Fire with me but went right back to camp after that.
On top of that, he is not super healthy and he had really bad chafing after Thursday so whenever he left he paid $5 for a taxi. He didn't feel like continuously paying that as the days went on. He was also on the phone with his mom 3-4 times a day, maybe more. He even made her leave him this fake voicemail (for me to here) saying that the guy's car that he borrowed needed it back. He couldn't even tell me he wanted to leave like a man.
But to answer your question I don't know who goes to Roo and does that. He's not your typical Rooer I guess.

Nic this post is a breakthrough defining his case and from the sounds of it, many others. He used so much ac that he had to have a guy come and he payed him I think 4xs the going rate for gas.

Friday for you
Well thank you for the warm welcome! I am going with at least one but potentially two pretty experienced festival-goers this year. I am however looking forward to some of the inforooer events because it seems like its a warm crew to be apart of. The baggage is definitely being left at home this year too. Thanks again!

Sounds like this joker needs The Pondo Army to take care of him out back behind the Cuckoo-Cuckoo Clock! In all seriousness, didn't the AC bother those around him, having the car on all the time? Did he buy his ticket?

Every year u meet someone who is only there to see one band. In 2008 I camped next to these girls who were there to see some band I'd never heard of. At least two days they never left the camp and just sat in their tent and smoked. What a waste.

Not at all because the trashiness attracted other flies. The people to the right of us were really grotesque. They too were there for the hip-hopers- oh and they were thinking about seeing Robert Plant too because they thought his other band was "okay" lol.
The people to the left of us were friendly the first day, the one girl actually went to the same school as me oddly enough. But after I was gone all day, came back, went to sleep and woke up again, they didn't really want to associate with me or my 'friend.' Maybe that was because he had the AC.
And yes he bought his ticket but money everything but hardly nothing at all to street pharmacists. I am of a different breed than that though.
Please come to the brunch this year. And bring your better friends.
What is a jello post? lol and I will most certainly try to bring them, if not, I will bring me. But I'm sure food and experienced Rooers will lure them in.

Thats sad to hear. One thing I loved about Roo last year was just walking around to different sets for hours upon hours and catching a bunch of different bands I never heard of. Then coming home and listening to all the new music I found.
Roo is the equivalent to your ears as eating sushi is to your pallets, its all about expanding on what you're used to.
