First time Roo'er driving from Chicago, renting a 25' RV, and camping at the KOA Manchester next door (I couldn't go an entire weekend in the field or at a festival without BOTTLED craft beer).
What is the atmosphere like at the KOA? While it certainly can't compare to the atmosphere inside the festival grounds, is it just as friendly? I'm very excited about the whole experience, just a bit nervous that it will be a lot more muted at the KOA - all of the stories on these boards about everyone becoming the best of friends throughout the weekend is starting to make me somewhat regret the decision to camp down the road.
Welcome to Inforoo. I'm sure you will find like minded people over at the KOA but remember that there is so much to do over in Centroo that you probably will not spend much time over at the KOA.
And there are plenty of craft beers available in cans.

I have no idea what the atmosphere at the KOA campground will be. And if bottled beer is your only reason, neither should you. ;D
A 25' RV has a lot of nooks and crannies. Pack well, enjoy responsibly and intelligently and skip the KOA. That's just my two cents.
Additionally, canned craft beer selection seems to be growing exponentially in recent years. I was a die hard bottled craft beer guy myself but because of camping a lot, hitting shows, etc I started trying out good canned brews more. My current favorite, Dale's Pale Ale is actually best enjoyed out of a can IMO. Preferably at a kick ass festival.

Appreciate all the feedback and tips - the bottled craft beer comment was (slightly) tongue in cheek. I think Modus Hoperandi by SKA Brewing is a very solid canned craft beer that would be perfect for the weekend.
I'll keep on the lookout for additional details - we might forgo the KOA (the reservation is transferable, if necessary) if the girlfriend will forgo bringing her dog along.
